I ordered my new 2018 F-150 with the factory towing mirrors and they are one of the best things I like about the truck for towing.
I highly recommend adding factory towing mirrors if you can.
I had the Cipa mirrors on my last truck. I did not like them much.

Ford and Toyota forces you to get a higher trim package to get power folding tow mirrors and I wasn't going to spend another $5-10K for a lariat so I bought lariat parts and added them to my XLT.

I bought and installed some aftermarket power fold tow mirrors. With the addition of the mirrors I found I rarely used the rear observation camera I installed on the trailer.
I also think the mirrors are one of the best things for towing.

Mine was a $250 option but maybe that was since I was already ordering the Lariat in the first place.
XLT was $275 for camper mirrors but they are manual fold and extend. You can still adjust them with power which is the most important. Still way better than going with stock mirrors and adding them later or buying these crappy extensions.

I also have the CIPA mirrors on my 2015 Chevy 2500HD...
I bought it in August of 2014 and (according to the dealer) the factory tow mirrors were not yet available for the 2500's.
I had to wait two years before CIPA finally came out with them for my truck, but once I got them (special ordered at Camping World) and installed them...I have not ever taken them off of the truck!
My only complaint with these mirrors are that the passenger side mirror is not a wide angle view (ie.- Objects are closer than they appear), but the same magnified mirror that is on the drivers door side, which basically make it useless.
However, I bought some stick-on mirrors and placed them strategically, and now these things are AWESOME!
Excuse the dust...had a mini Haboob come through here the night before last:

I've got a set of these from Amazon on my F150, these should be the Chevy version:
https://smile.amazon.com/Fit-System-...dp/B00MO9T9SE/
They work great and haven't scratched my current mirrors yet. Only thing I don't like is I can't fold my mirrors when I have them on, since a corner will rub the window edge on my truck. This may be different with a chevy

No they aren't pretty chrome but I can extend them when I tow my camper, retract them when I don't and fold them in when I need to go into a car wash or tight spot. Being able to see beside and behind me to be safe is worth it!

This is what I agree with, they are always installed and no need to store or remove them! By being ON the truck All the time you get accustom to "Using Them" a Big Plus! Towing Mirrors should be "Included in All Towing Packages"! Youroo!!

I upgraded my mirrors to tow mirrors on my last F150 by ordering from a website and installing myself.
I'm not sure why I didn't buy a truck with them on it this time. Looking at mirrors with all the options from the same vendor is now going to be $1200-$2k to purchase and still install myself.
One day i'll do it...

Since my truck is garage kept I needed the power fold. Having power fold/extend, puddle/spot lights and keeping the auto dim was well worth the money for OEM Lariat mirrors on a XLT.

I have the same model on my 2017 1500 Silverado. I can fold my mirrors with no problem at all. They work very, very well and beat the heck out of the old rubberband secured mirrors I used to use.

I bought a set of those from an auto parts store and returned them as those little tabs on the front of the mirror impeded the movement of the electric truck mirrors on my 2015 Chevy 2500.
I tried them out in the parking lot before I even left the store.
I pull a 5'ver and often have to aim the truck mirrors up to keep an eye on tree branches and stuff!

I can understand that issue. I have to fold mine every time I go through the gate of my house.
