Mixed Shocks & Struts

Had Monroe Reflex shocks installed on the rear of the truck today. There was a communication mix up and I thought they were also putting Reflex struts on the front, but they hadn't.

Hopefully I won't have any conflict issues between the Monroe shocks on the rear and the OE struts on the front. Fortunately OE struts are in good condition.

Also had LT 'E' load range tires put on today. Truck definitely feels more solid to the ground in comparison to the P rated tires that were on there originally.

Looking forward to feeling the difference when hauling the TT.

It will make a huge difference LT wise, night and day towing my 5er. YKF here and happy too!! Just waiting for time out!

You shouldn't have any issue with different shocks.

Also, when ever we fix a collision, we only replace the one that was damaged, thats all that the insurance will cover. So there are tons of vehicles with 1 of one type of shock or strut and 3 of another, and also many with different ones from front to back.

Ps. I have 2 different brands on my truck, dw's tahoe and probably at least one of my cars

I just put some Bilstein 4600 HD shocks on the rear of my truck today. Left the OEM shocks on the front. I'm getting rid of my P rated tires soon, too. Probably going to get some 20" Nitto Dura Grappler load range e.

The Nitto Dura Grappler is what I went with. That's about all I could get in a 20" LT around here.

Yeah. I hear ya. There's not much selection in the 20" wheel size. Sounds like you're happy with your decision.

My experience with Nitto's has been good! I've had the Terra grapplers and currently the Trail Grapplers (both 10 ply load range E). Been happy with both, only about 10-15k on my trail grapplers. Only complaint is the stiffness, but I think that is because of how high the load rating is.
My 295/70/18 (roughly 34.5"x11.5) has a rating of 4080lb. (Other brands are around 3200lb) So I run the pressures a little lower when not towing much to help with the ride.
And nitto seems to have the best selection of load rated tires for larger wheels....at least in my opinion.
