I have come across a used Morryde pin box. It was new in November and only has a few hundred miles on it. The asking price is half the cost of a new one. I have checked the model #'s on both boxes and it will fit. Are there any reasons I should not consider a used pin box?
I had a couple of them and I think they take out most of the chucking and are worth the money. They are lot better than standard pin box but from what I have read not quite as good as the pin box with air bladder and shock.

Good to know. May hitch cover prevents me from seeing model # so I called Lippert with part # and they confirmed it was a 1621. The Morryde part # is RPB72-1621HD-04? Am I missing anything?
I found majority of newer Forest River coaches use a Lippert 1621. Personally and what I recommend to friends is skip the Morryde and go right for the airride. I have a source for the Trailair 1621 pinbox for less than 800. I was lucky and found one on Craigslist once and picked it up for 125 but I did drive 200 miles round trip to get it. Well worth it.
But if the Morryde is priced right go for it. Nothing wrong with used. Lets face it most people are not wearing them out. You can always resell it.
If purchasing a morryde make sure you get the right spring code ( weight rating ) for you unit as they have 4 different spring rubbers inside the hitches if you get one rated for 24,000. And your unit weighs 9000 it is probably not going to help a lot
