Most unbelievable tow setup I've ever seen...

I'll start off by saying that I was unable to get pics of this rig which I regret. We were in moderate traffic on a 3 lane each direction highway and I didn't see it in time to tell the better half to get a pic of it. Here's the setup- newer F150 SCrew was towing an older low profile 5er. I could see the truck was squatting heavily through traffic- discovered why when I got a clear view of it. He had a bar sticking out ~2+' behind the receiver with 5er sitting on that with a lengthened gooseneck adapter of some type. I've never seen anything like it in my life. The front tires of the TV had to have almost no weight on them and the forces that the hitch were seeing from the leverage of the bar extending so far back had to be astronomical. I can't imagine this guy made it to his destination.

Yep. I'll try to draw a picture when I get a chance showing the basic setup.

That one probably wins. But I saw this one in person, so it's more meaningful to me!

I had take a minute to look all over those pictures.

{CurseWord} unbelievable.

I do not think this calls for the weight police, more like the DOT. This homer needs to be off the roads.

Just now getting to where I am laughing about it.

Is that a big blue poo tank on top of that van? He may need it when that rig grinds to a halt.

Thanks guys for the after work smiles.

I was driving yesterday and saw a newer BMW 7 series towing an Airstream. Nothing surprises me anymore

You don't say how big an Airstream. I found the following capacities on the BIMMERFORUMS site here:

750iL towing capacity

For a BMW 750:

The German owners manual says:
tow hook load (weight) max. 50 kg 50 kg = 110 lbs
with LAD or the special trailer springs: 75 kg 75 kg = 165 lbs

trailer max weight:
without brake for trailer 750 kg 1650 lbs
with brake for trailer 1600 kg 3520 lbs

Max. roof load: 100 kg 220 lbs

see here what an E34 535 can pull
BMW moves a Merc

I had an acquaintance who lived in a very old Airstream over the winter (-20F some nights). It had a wood stove in it. He said it would creak and crack as it warmed up and cooled down. He called it "The Silver Twinkie!"

Can't see why he needs a safety chain. Some of those pictures must have been staged? I like the one with the tail gate open with the hitch attached. When you think you have seen it all, all of sudden you really haven't. Thanks my morning chuckle.
