My favorite part was the block of wood holding up the tailgate!

Did you notice they even "doweled" it to fit into the hole where the ball should have been...

I have since deleted the picture, but a feller moving out of the Bakken a few weeks back hitched his trailer house to the back of his Uhaul and heading out on hwy2. The local yokels stopped him from getting too far.

My photos were not staged.
I took them yesterday.
Oxnard St- Van Nuys California.
That whole area is turning into a homeless encampment.
The move their rigs a few blocks every couple of days to avoid tickets.
I talked to a motor cop recently out of Van Nuys division- he said they are told to NOT harass the homeless for fear of lawsuit retaliation...He was serious. I almost ran a guy over that was dancing in the streets. The cop pulled me over for expired tags (I had them in the glove box- just forgot to put them on). He told me this when I asked why he didn't get the guy out of the street.

Welcome to the new world Merika.

not sure why someone would go through hours of rusting a hitch, tearing apart an interior on such a fine vehicle and use carriage bolts or whatever they did to merely stage the sequence of images....
but if they did they did in in fine style because to merely whittle a pin for the block of wood would take at least a couple of hours.

but just in case someone would think it was staged,
here are 2 more...

I have seen that setup it doesn't swing at the truck as it is connected two points on truck. It also has a third wheel for hooking up without tow vehicle then using a built in winch to pull trailer to tow vehicle if you can't get close enough to hook up. also the wheels on tow dolly swivel to let it follow truck with brakes on dolly it gives you extra stopping power and no pin weight on truck.

I think this setup was discussed on the FRF awhile ago with demo videos. I think I would use a heavier TV if I brought one.

I really like the added chains and s-hooks on the wagon tailgate. That should do it! Have been seeing that picture float around for many years.

Back in the 70's I sold a 32 ft 5er to a gentleman with a Cadillac Coupe Deville 2 door hardtop. He pulled the 5er with the Coupe Deville with aN Ace hitch.
The hitch had two dolly wheels, had a double reciever, on on each frame rail of the Coupe, an had the fifth wheel on a frame that laid over the trunk lid.
We had the hitch painted white to match the Coupe and the 5er, which was a Country Aire.
The biggest handicap was high centering on the tow vehicle on a very steep incline.
Back then, trucks weren't very popular in New Jersey and some folks just want a 5er.
