Moved from 6.4L to 6.7L!
I made a move last Friday that I didn't think I would. But with the rebates on the '13s going on and mine '10 still under warranty, I got a heck of a deal on trade. Too good in fact to pass up. The '10 only had 21k miles on her and 13k of that was pulling the 5er. She did a marvelous job. I hope it continues. Can't wait to install all my goodies along with the hitch and head out for the mountains in a few weeks. Here is a pic of the '10

You are seriously going to love the difference between the 6.4L and the 6.7L. I love my '08, but the first time I hooked up my 5th wheel, it was an incredible difference. I've always said I am not a believer in a "night and day" difference, but this was about as close as it came. It is truly a whole new experience.
Let us know after the first tow...if you can get the smile off your face!

Great looking truck! I am mostly a Chevy guy but have owned a couple of Fords over the years. My question is ride quality when towing? I never have found a post that compares, let say 07 and 08's to the new 13 and 14 trucks. Both Ford , Chevy and Dodge. Everyone should know they can all pull most anything out there, but the ride???

I will wait and see what the 2015's offer, I may just run my 2010 for a few more years.

Very nice and good luck with it! I'm interested in finding out how you find it towing compared to the 6.4. I have a 6 4 and pull a 42 footer and think it pulls great. Well, it does, but really have no comparison as its our first 5er. Be interested to get your honest take on it after some towing. Let us know. Enjoy!

Nope, it is a long bed just looks funny the way I took the pic.

You will like that 6.7. I noticed in your signature it says "starting mods soon" after the truck description. I don't know if you meant engine mods but I was told by a long time buddy who is a Ford diesel mechanic not to modify anything on it, leave it stock. The only issues he has seen or heard of with the 6.7 is when owner modify them. Just an FYI and enjoy the truck.

No! No engine mods. I only changed a CAC pipe on my other. i don't like gambling with warranties. I had a Viair 10007 onboard air system on the other that I am putting on it. It is being Line-Xd right now and windows being tinted. I have got to wire up the SEIC or "high idle mod" along with wiring Viair into upfitter switches. Hopefully will finish it up with a set of Firestone Ride Rites in a month or so as I don't believe my '10 model ones will fit. I will be putting the B&W hitch in hopefully this weekend so I will be ready to pull by early next week, minus the bags, which I'm told this truck doesn't really need them.

Just as you guys said, I love the truck and had a chance to pull our smaller toy hauler to deer camp this week. I went the same route as I did with the 6.4L three weeks ago. The power is outstanding! I am used to driving the cab-chassis versions of the 6.7 and couldn't see much of a difference in the 6.4. But holy crap at the difference a 'regular' 6.7 makes!!!! Absolutely astonishing! It is totally amazing. I got a good comparison between the two on the TT toyhauler. The jury is still out on the nearly 16k 5er, but that day is fast approaching. First off, the mileage was 2.3 mpg better with the 6.7 on the same route, with the same equipment in the camper. The TT TH only weighs 6700 empty, but is full of water(102 gallons), the four wheeler and two huge full coolers so my guess is she weighs around 8600 pounds on this trip. Second thought was that the 6.7 drives like a luxury car instead of a truck. The steering is much more 'nimble' for the lack of a better term. The power steering unit feels much more 'free' than the 6.4. Third thought is POWER. Not just power, but effortless power. I thought the 6.4 pulled things well, but nothing like this. Easy acceleration under any conditions, dead stop, uphill, passing, whatever. Also, I have to watch the speed limit constantly as I can't judge it in this truck yet. I am running 65 without needing to be running that fast. This thing is an absolute dream to drive!! I was very pleased with the trip except for one thing. I have a high pitched whine, almost whistle when accelerating in the gears 1 through 4. It almost sounds like a turbo boot with a pin hole in it, but my sons also points out that is could be the tranny..Will keep an eye on it for sure! Anyway, I LOVE THIS TRUCK! Although I now only have 950 miles on her.
Oh, and by the way, if you have an '08-'10 Ford truck and buy a newer model, and have airbags, contact SDTruckSprings and see if they make a bracket and bolt kit for your new truck. If like mine, the bags are the same, you can buy just a bracket &bolt kit for around $180 with shipping. Then put your bags on the new brackets. That is a lot better deal than $400 for a new set! Anyways, here she is at camp, please do not shoot me as this is not a FR product(I swear my other one is!)

check with ford on the high pitch whistle. might just be nature of the beast with 2 turbos. im sure some other 13 owners will check in shortly and let you know if they have the same thing. either way, at least you would have documentation should the need arise in the future. these (any) trucks are too expensive anymore to just blow it off.
nice truck tho. very nice.

I have never owned a diesel until this truck so I can't compare noises. I do have a whine or whistle in mine when especially towing and more so in lower gears. Being hearing challenged, my wife says she can even hear a whining or a winding down noise when I shut motor down. (remember to let motor idle after towing a load like manual says) I believe the 6.7 has only one turbo which is sequential (so basically two turbos in one). Wouldn't hurt to have the Ford diesel techs listen to see if it is normal though.

BTW...any luck deer hunting? I had a chance a few years ago to hunt deer in GA near a town called McCrae. It was around Halloween and the temps were in the high 80's.
