Maximum payload is shown at 4779lbs, but Ford claims its really closer to 7200lbs. Towing is rated at 31,200lbs.

I started a thread a while back on the lower cargo capacities of the F450, and got some interesting answers.

Good looking truck! Maybe there's a freight train near by that needs a tug up a hill! Lol

A light duty truck is officially classified as a truck weighing 14000lbs or less. In order to claim the F450 as a light duty truck, given its increased curb weight over the F350, they had to reduce the published payload capacity and claim an overall GVW of 14k to keep it there. Otherwise it would have been categorized as a medium duty truck and would require a CDL to drive.

Nice truck..That beast would probaby be about 1k a year to register here in CA.. I remember reading about a guy that bought one and used it only for seasonal camping trips eventually sold it because he couldnt justify the cost of ownership...Should have done his homework first....

I mean no offense. Just poking fun at the weight police.
Without them there would be a lot of people riding around in unsafe rigs.
But none the less, Still fun to bug[emoji12]

These are the last two I sold off - I also sold 35 Ford and 65 Corvette. Paid off all the bills including the house and retired. It was sad day to see them hauled off.
