My new truck makes coffee (I think)
Just got my new 2012 F-450 Lariat.
WOW! Just a really nice truck IMO. My other truck is a 2006 F-350 Lariat SRW but it will only tow 12,500lbs.
The new 5er we bought is a Crusader 355BHQ and wet comes in about 14,000lbs, so I was looking for a safer vehicle for my family and I, so as not to have any worries out on the trail. We also have a short (10') toy trailer on the rear of all that so I was very concerned as to how my SRW would do. So I just decided that there was no way I needed to even try to tow with the 350 and went with the F-450.
Being that I am in Denver and head west most every time we go camping I feel this should be our safest TV we could own within reason and the F-350 DRW's were just about the same price as well.
This truck has almost all the bells and whistles and is REALLY nice, no it does not make coffee but sure seems like it should.
Not sure what else to say at this point as I am still just looking it over and being dumbfounded by all the gizzy's it has over my once new 2006 F-350.

Nice truck and an ugrade for sure. I have the 2006 dually.
Now to piss in your oatmeal.................Your truck, RV, and 10' trailer behind the RV is well over 60' long and may be over 70' long. As a triple rig, you are illegal in many states.
Read this.
2011 Driving Laws for the US and Canada
As many states, town, cities, etc. are under budget.........You are a prime target to get pulled over, measured for total length, and fined. And as long as the cops have you pulled over, may as well check for stuff while they are at it.
I know I sound like a weenie however, If I can save guys on the road a ticket/fine I'm all for it.

It is 70' in Colorado and I am at 69' total. I made everything fit for CO because that is where I play. Otherwise bicycles on the back of the 5er for the other states!
BTW the toy trailer is 10' total length.
Thanks for the lookin out tho!!

I know what you mean here. We brought a new 2012 Ram LongHorn 3/4 ton with the Cummins 6.7 L engine. Our first new vehicle in 10 years and I am amazed at the features in it, including the new style (to me anyway) ignition key. I think it will shine my shoes if I can find the right button.

Nice 5th wheel and Ford!
By goinf to the F-450 you get so much more than a F-250.
Your brakes are much much larger and the suspension id much better as well as the rear truck rear end.
Good luck and I'm sure you will enjoy the ride.
What truck hitch do you have? The one that mounts to the holes in the Ford Bed? or an air ride hitch
I just notice you even have the indash Navagtion System... WOW!

I did not get the Cequent underbed mount, but will put Cequent rails in after I get a bed liner sprayed this week. I have rails in the 06 350 so I will use my Reese 16k until my 20k comes in about 3 weeks.

I did not like them in pictures either but don't mind them now. I really do not like the "REALLY BIG" ones on the other 2 brands of trucks either. Too much plastic to get pegged by a rock and have a nice hole in it, but that is JMO.
Thanks for the comments guys!!

I will bite. Horrible look on Fords part. The dash looks miter cut (like a carpenter built it) and the DRW fenders are round. Nice interior electronic features, but horrible cosmetic look for me.
Good luck with it.

That dash has been around since 2008 and it really looks good in my opinion. The fenders are another story. Reminds me of the DRW Dodges and I was never sold on them either.

Nice truck, but the fenders sure leave a lot to be desired. Looks like they forgot about them and found a set from an old 50's Chevy. Would sure try to find some molded ones that are streamlined into the rest of the bed. Make a nice truck into a beautiful rig.

Just saw a new Dodge Ram 3500 DRW next to me at a stop light. The Ram rear fenders look like Playschool plastic add ons. CHEAP. But hey, they are inexpensive to replace and you know dang well people crack em up sooner vs. later.

Congratulations on the new ride. You're gonna love it for sure. That new 6.7L is a dream to drive, and a dream to tow with.

Sweet ride. I've got the '11 and I love it. The engine is phenomenal and the creature comforts (like that coffee maker) ain't half bad either!
