My Ram 3500 Recall is confirmed

Just called the dealer, and he told me what to look for to verify that I need the replacement. From under the front of truck, look just to the passenger side of center of the tie rod and if the stabilizer shock is mounted to the tie rod with two muffler type clamps you could have a problem . A new tie rod and front end alignment is in my immediate future.

Oh, recall is for the left tie rod ball stud may fracture under certain conditions... causing problems.... 2008-2012, Ram 1500/2500/3500 pu.

DW works in an engineering firm that does accident reconstruction for attorneys. Nearly 70% of their cases are Dodge/RAM/Chrysler, and almost 80% are ball joint failures on 2500+ series trucks. Keep an eye on those things, or consider an upgrade!

I got my recall paper a couple of weeks ago. Need to get into the dealer to take care of it.

Fyi and may not be the case but the last time I had warranty work done on a dodge on the the front suspension a "required" alignment wasn't covered , just the repair.

I questioned that and dealer said front end alignment was covered under the recall, no problem.
