Gas is cheaper most of the time and the mileage is about the same.
Here in Arizona the diesel price just fell below the cost of regular gasoline by 10 cents per gallon. It has been many years since I've seen that.
That's really great news. In my part of Texas regular unleaded is under $3.00 per gallon while diesel remains high at $3.79.

2005 5.4 3.55 in the Rockies. Works Great for my 26t Salem. Slow on the big passes but she gets there... Eventually

No worries about finding correct fuel and where
Now with price difference between gas and deisel about equal in fuel cost
