Need Ford receiver hitch help please
Hi Guys just bought a 2019 F250. Any the receiver on of the hitch is 2.5 inches and my hitch and ball is a standard 2 inch bar as most are. I contact ford and they said all 2019 f250 now come standard 2.5 inch receiver ends to allow more towing hitch weight. Has anyone else run into this? And what is the solution. Thanks for all any anyone experiences. Thanks Jim

Walmart or any parts store has an adapter. My Chevy even came with one. A sleeve you put inside the 2.5" to allow 2" to be used.

I’d check with the dealer. The adapter sleeve should have come with the truck.

My truck came with a sleeve. At the time I was using an equalizer hitch so I got a 2.5" drop hitch so I did not need the sleeve. It tightened up things and I found it was wearing the hitch locking pin less.

Mine also came with the sleeve adapter...but you can't have it!
I leave it in place...with a lock on it, of course!
Anyway, you can buy one or can also get a drop down that will fit in there without the adapter, which if your trailer is really heavy would be the better option.
I think this is called a Class VI (6) receiver...

John, I think it is a Class V hitch. Even though it is not the final word, I cite:

I didn’t even know about this issue since I’ve not used the receiver. I have a 2018 F350. After reading this post I looked at my receiver and it has the sleeve inserted already. Came with the truck.

I vote it's under the rear seat. Or they took it out to sell it to ya.

When you do finally get one, I strongly suggest you either paint the lip bright orange or add a sticker to the hitch head reminding you to remove it. It is way too easy to leave it in the receiver only to have it fallout while driving.

I would have to agree with this. Just get the correct size draw bar and equip it with you needed trailer ball. Much better than having a sleeve rattle back there wearing out your pin.

X2 I haul my small utility trailer with a sleeve. never would I tow a large trailer with the sleeve. just added slop and increasing tolerances.
