Millertime. Is that why you see so many tractors pulling trailers being towed off the highway all the time and the truckers can afford these repairs?

I guess you haven't been in the trucking industry. I have and will be again. You budget repairs in to every load. Not everything leaves you on the side of the road (like injectors, most exhaust systems, and even turbos wont in all situations ) but you will have reduced power and if dot catches some of it, you wont be moving till its fixed.
I was talking about light trucks in this situation, but hd trucks break down too.
Believe what you want, but, me and alot of other guys make really good money fixing vehicles that break down and get wrecked. Everything has a service life! UPS has it down to a science and they replace parts before the service life has reached the end of its span.
Oh and being i spend hours a day on the interstate, i see hd trucks broke down and towed frequently.

A 350/3500 SRW is going to have a payload of ~4500 pounds, and that trailer has a hitch weight of <2200lb, so you're fine. I don't know what the tow max is on that truck, but for both the 2500 and 3500 SRW from Ram, the max is around 17k towing limit, so that trailer would be within those limits with a GVW of 16,103lb. Stepping up to a DRW will add another ~2k in payload capacity, which seems to be unnecessary for your situation. The only thing I do know about the Fords is that when I was looking back in '13, towing was always lower for the Ford than the Ram. From what I remember it was less than 15k lb for the F250 SRW.

Only a bare bones work truck has that payload.
Towing chart states my ccsb 4wd cummins Aisin should have 3900 lbs.
Sticker says 3747.
Add 300 for the hitch
Another 500 for passengers.
A 2500 lb pin for the 5er.
Eats is up pretty quick....

I wish my payload of 4500 lbs on my F350 has 3744 payload. Some of the Rams have higher payload because they have a higher GVWR of 12,300 while Fords stuck with a 11,500 but what I have been told that will change in 2017 and Ford GVWR will be higher than Rams plus a lot lighter truck. I owned a 315RST and adding 1100 lbs to the dry weight the scales said it had a 2780 pin weight not 2200.

I'm confusing the hundreds with the DRW. It's 5500 for the DRW (mega cab), and 4,000 for the SRW +/- 300 lb, depending on configuration. The new truck I'm about to order ('16 laramie 3500 4x4 mega cab SRW w/air & Aisin) has payload of 4130, and towing of 16,600. Per http://www.ramtrucks.com/assets/towi...ing_charts.pdf
Don't forget to factor in the full tank of Diesel (31 gallons @ 7.5lb/gal) of 232 lb.

Mine was a F350 and the website said 4150 and the payload tag on the truck was 3744. I think with the meg cab it will even be few pounds lower than mine. The 16,600 may be right but you will probably run out of payload before you run out of towing capacity.

That makes me sad. My 2012 Ram DRW only has 4,300 lbs. of available payload. The newer trucks have such better/higher numbers.

I'm not overly familiar with 5th wheel setups, but the hitches I've looked at, including a slider, have been closer to 150lb.
I'm looking at a W&P 38FCR to go with the new 3500 (eventually) and I believe I'm within perfect range. 3131 pin + 500 people/dogs + 232 diesel + 150 hitch = 4013. UVW of the trailer is 11,830 + 2,750 toys + 913 water = 15,493, leaving me with another 1,100 in capacity, but I know going over in the tow weight isn't going to be a huge deal as long as the hitch itself can handle it. GVW of the trailer is 17,131, and I wouldn't try to exceed that. I don't think we have 1,100 pounds worth of stuff, but I know that can add up quickly, too.

I thought it was all fluids except fuel, but maybe I'm off. I don't see anything within that chart from Ram. Going to have to do a tad more research now.
Crazy how much they increased capacity with the new frame and setup of 2013, isn't it?

Just get a DRW 3500 and don't worry any more, remember a RAM will be 10K less than a Ford or GM equipped the same

Your actual sticker payload will be less.
My Hensley hitch is around 350lbs with the slider.
