The stuff, congrats on the new rig. Hope it serves you well. I have about 5700km on mine now. Gas mileage not quite as good as yours but about 13-13.5/100 on no wind. Bought it to tow trailer but only had the chance to move it from one side of the shed to the other. Oh well, hopefully next year.

My Escape has that usless no cap filler. I can tell you living out on dusty gravel roads, every week the stupid tank door not closed comes on or I get a CEL. Then I have to clean the rubber seal on the door real good. Trying to figure out how to install a real gas cap when the warranty is over. Those things are another big brother attempt to protect us from ourselves.

I just traded a 2009 f-154 5.4 L for a new 2011 f-350 6.2L and paid a difference off $22350.00 the lot.

I believe the entire neck will have to be replaced to get rid of that foolish filler system.

i bet its tied into the emissions system and the computer and will throw a code if tampered/replaced.

Some people must have complained enough that the mfg would design and put these on cars. I too hate not having a cap. It's not that hard but there must have been a rash of people losing caps or just couldnt figure out how to remove it before filling.

sucks that filler lock doesnt work... something similar made of rubber that when you lock makes it expand would be nice.

Gotta love our gas prices. We are going to Minot this coming weekend. Finally get to give the Sooper Dootey a good run and see how it does with just 3 people and no trailer. My estimates should have it costing about $140.00 return plus whatever we use in Minot as the ladies want to go to the mall and I need to get to Tractor Supply and OReily's. I have real no numbers to go by yet as I think we have had the truck for over a month and I haven't gone through a full tank of gas yet.

put enough in to make Kenmare. probably the cheapest fuel I've noticed. Portal gets the tourists trying for last fill before crazy canadian prices and Minot just seems more money.

I cant seem to find prices other then in minot though.. at hwy 52 & 2 there is a shell in the NW corner that usually has the cheapest Diesel right now its 4.14/gallon.

Thanks,

When we came home through Minot this summer I filled at at a Holiday off 52 on the west side as I could get our rig into their pumps and they had 89 octane. I think they were at 3.89 if memory serves me and usually it does not.

Turbo, well it's good to see that you're not talking on the cell phone while you're driving!

One of the first mods I did on my truck was to add a cab air filter, its been a year and I've only had to dust a couple of times.
