need opinion on new truck

so looking at buying a 2011 Ecoboost Supercrew XLT. currently have a 07 f150 xl reg cab long box...

new truck is crew cab, 4x4, with the ecoboost. it's an XLT so way more features then the XL i have now. Only problem is not max tow/payload or even a brake controller in it as it is now.

Dealer wants 26k and the truck has 30,000kms on it. doesnt really want my 07 as a trade... is this a good deal for an ecoboost? (cheapest truck in the province with an ecoboost)

no dealer ever wants what you have while at the same time they think their stuff is golden. however, the price of a new truck is at or near 40k for a half ton in my area

We took delivery today on a new 2012 Super Cab XL EcoBoost. Very plain - no power windows, door locks etc. Added Class 3 hitch, 7 pin wiring, towing mirrors, rearview camera (automatic), radio with CD player. Got extra discount for being Costco member and because my husband works for Bridgestone/Firestone. Based on that you are getting XLT, bigger cab and only 30,000 km sounds like a great deal to me. Have you looked at new 2012 to see what kind of rebate you could get on that?

New trucks with ecoboost and no preference to options are running high 40's to mid 50's... not cheap around here...

for rebates there is the $1000 off for costco, and the 0% financing sale. so still looking at near double what this truck is.

appears Ford trucks are a little cheaper in SouthWest Ontario. I also had a '07 XL long bed with a 4.6 litre that was having a hard time pulling my trailer up hills and against wind. I ordered a 2012 XLT, supercrew, 4X4, 6.5 box with ecoboost max trailer, max payload (8200lb). buckets, rear view camera, synch, heated trailer mirrors etc. My total cost for this truck was $34000 plus HST and they gave me $11,500 for my '07 trade in for a difference of $22,500 + HST. I've seen new F150 XLT advertised in Toronto for $27 and change (not ecoboost). You would need to add $1250 to get the ecoboost. I guess it all boils down to supply/demand.

Okay, went by local dealer after work just for the giggles.

2012 F150 SCab Eco XTR is pretty close there...
http://fordlabels.webview.biz/webvie...fx1et7cfb66693

47,639MSRP
$4,250 Delivery Allowance
$5,500 Trade
------
37,899+ taxes with a monthly payment of 587.69.

So for 30-40 $ a month more i can have a new truck with more options and the max tow and XTR package... thinking that might be a better deal..

look at it this way too... they are rolling out the 13 models, and if you feel brave, you might be able to wait them out a bit. that is, unless what you want and have found are hard to find.
