2014 released in 2012? That's different. I read yesterday that the GM lots are full of the older (2012/2013??) trucks and they're offering $13k off the top to get ready for the new model year.

I'm a GM guy but every model change they make on trucks are usually so subtle that it doesn't spark a mass exodus to go buy one right away...hope I'm wrong this time because there are a lot of good fit & finish trucks out there nowadays

I asked our fleet sales manager at work( work at a chevy, gmc, buick, toyota and scion dealer, and owner owns most others). I was asking him about when medium dutys (4500 & 5500) trucks would be out. To that he said probably 2016 or 17 but that the all new redesigned light duty 2014 trucks( suppose to be some diff. engines too) will be out this spring. Tomarrow is the "release" date, which means that you can see some pics and specs that were all just speculation till now.
I didn't realize the date or I would have run down to sales or fleet and seen what they could show me early.
As to the early model year release, they did the same thing to tahoes in '06 with the new '07s for sale in early '06. Really they do the same thing on rvs. Reason then, on tahoes was it was way cheaper to produce, so swiching early saved $.
Probqbly the same now, I know they are supose to be lighter and mire fuel efficent.
- as to the lots full of '12s and '13s, the dealers always stock up on older year models, because when more rebates are offered on them, they sale more because of price. And we are FULL OF THEM at work, we are having a hard time finding places to park shop work and even hard driving around, and our dealership is on like 18 acres, this is the most I have ever seen, must be because of '14s comming.

Quite happy with mine. Not even broke in at 29K miles. Just thought some would be interested to see the new version coming and maybe snag a good deal on a '12 or '13. I can highly recommend them!
Got the TT in the shop for repairs from the blow-out. Hope to have it out by next week. Insurance covers except for my deductible ($500 ).
Millertime, thanks for the info. Spectulation is new design is similar to the concept model that has been in the car shows.

Well the gmc and chevy look pretty neat. It looks like there are going to be 2 different crew cab sizes. Love the gmc slt interior.
And I was just getting use to working on the current models

Looks good, not a drastic difference, but enough I guess. I won't be looking anytime soon, just turned 7k on mine, and I haven't even towed a 5th wheel yet. (still awaiting my 320) Can't wait to see how this baby tows a big one. Anyway, love my Denali HD, been driving GM trucks for 30 years and don't plan on changing anytime soon.

Agree Dave. A number of the features I have on my 2013, stability controls, engine reduces to V4. Some of the cargo features are improvements; steps in bumper, lighting, tie downs.

There were a lot of rumors the cab size would be increased, has anyone seen anything on this?

It seems to me they combined the Ford and Ram interior into this new my' 14. It appears the rear seat offer more room. I think GM has done a good job freshening up the truck and interior. The Silverado has the trim spec in the front grille? To me that's very tacky. At least the one pic i saw of an LTZ did.
