Also-just to point the gun at my own brand......A Search of "Hemi engine failures" brings up similar results. Not much on the 6.4 potentially because there are not that many out there.

Yep, the Eco is just like my diesel... well... they both have a turbo... but about half the torque on the Freak-O-Beast... I tried to buy one... several years back, but when shopping the Ram, with the diesel, came in at about the same price, so Ram won out this time. Hopefully I won't be shopping again anytime soon! Can you say... STICKER SHOCK!

Personally, i am hoping it stays that way.... no need for the 6.4's to develop issues

I know 4 people with eco-bust, all hate them. Two say no more fords for them. They die driving down the road, tow in no problem found. One found a work around, put in neutral, turn off ignition and restart while still moving.

Tsb.
Look for cover over inter cooler.
If found remove it.
A week later...
Look for cover, if not present, put this foam pad over half the inter cooler.
Week later, look at the inter cooler part number, if it ends in ab, replace with ac.
Yada yada yada.

I had 2 F150 ecoboosts and an explorer ecoboost. Only issue I had was the intercooler stumble.
Good power, decent mileage, and impressive low end are my impressions.
When I got my first one, my father liked to tease me how my v6 would blow up before it could even move the triple axle KZ sportsman sportster he had at the time. I didn't even bother with the WDH when I yanked it out and took off down the road with it. Took a picture just because it was the only time I hooked up to it.
Now he teases me about my little 3/4t hemi... his truck is a 3500 diesel with airlift 5000 and compressor, 57g transfer tank, chipped, 5" exhaust, topper,... 71 going on 21 I think.

Chrysler/Fiat is buying back 500,000 rams, GM can't seem to build an ignition switch even through the new trucks. Personally I started buying Fords because since 1980, I haven't had a GM or Chrysler product that I haven't had problems with. 4 New GM trucks that the heads or the block cracked in the 1980's cured me of GM. Chryslers transmissions leaked from the factory on two I had in the 1990's and since 1999 have bought Fords with no problems and a couple of minor recalls. Standing in dealerships waiting on them to fix problems that should have been done before selling their vehicles cured me. My time is more valuable than waiting in the waiting room.

You won't be shopping anytime soon....you bought the right truck. Tried and true and not rushed into production. If I towed more frequently I would have gone with the cummins.

Thanks for the info on the fuel cap! I will order one now. Incidentally I tried the truck in various driving conditions with and without a load! No problem, like nothing ever happened. My insurance adjuster was awsome!

It fits!!!! Barely. With the storms on the way, first test with two vehicles in the garage. Need to make some adjustments...still not used to the mirrors.

I do!!
I will still stand by my " gas over diesel"...
Under certain circumstances.
I will never own a diesel out of warranty.
When I bought the Ford, the options were it, or a diesel, 5 years older and at least 100k more on the odometer.
New=oil burner
Used= gas.
Repair bills are just too high on a used diesel.

Well.....I think I found one of the drawbacks of going with the gas engine in a 7300# truck. Traveled across the state to KC for work and if you live in the Midwest you know that today was particularly windy. Burned nearly a full tank and avg according to the dash 12.3 mpg. Have not filled up to get the hand calc numbers. Granted there were constant 35-45 mph head winds but traveling 75mph really sucks the gas down. Upside...the heavier truck really didn't feel the wind compared to my 1/2 ton when empty. Also, filled up before I left for less than 45 bucks.

If you had been traveling the other direction you could have probably gotten over 20. You could have then used that number as the official fuel mileage for your truck and just never check it again. Then you could be the guy on the forums talking about how great his mileage is while everyone else told him how full of crap he is.
