There is a lot of folks on various boards reporting 17-18 hand calculated empty mpg with this set up as I have found out. Interesting info on this engine at plowsite.com. Many claiming to be done with oil burners after driving this truck. I'm impressed.

I have about 27k on mine .. Did a wood run around 450 round trip Monday and brought back a trailer with 3/4 of cord of Oak.. I averaged 20.2 mpg. Is it bad to say my truck makes me giggle.

I may have missed it but is your truck a 4x4 if not then that will explain some of the better fuel mileage. Nice looking truck and good choice for your needs. Later RJD

Unhappy

Cummins Diesel dilema! It seems that about 1-2 pints of DEF fluid had been added to the fuel tank! The water in fuel light came on while on the way to take it to a service facility. The plan is to have them drain the Filter and hope no damage occured. Has anyone had a simular occurrence or situation. I called the dealer and of course they tell me that a major fuel system repair might be in order or at least might have been compromised. I took the truck to a very reputable service facility and was advised that they sought that any significant damage occurred. They will drain the filters and worse case scenario drain the tank and change out the filters. Anyone else had any similar occurrence? I was planning on towing my 5th wheel for a camping trip in New England in two days!

Did you stop and drain the fuel filter when the light came on? It's a small lever at bottom of filter.
Let the water or def drain out before it hits the injectors.. I hope you haven't damaged anything. Good Luck

Thanks. Sure wish the dealer I was working with would have come through was really looking forward to this truck except it would have been only 2 wheel drive. I still like the 3.73 gear also. Later RJD
