I haven't bought it yet, probably next week for sure. It looks like I will probably get the 2500 with the cummins diesel.

10-11 mpg while towing a full profile truck camper weighing 4-5k seems ok in my opinion.

Ya, Ram's Eco Diesel is all about MPG, not payload, etc... IMO it's all about marketing hype so they can claim best MPG & highest towing capability all in one ad... (although referring to different trucks...)

My 2014 ram mega cab got a average of 10,9 mpg towing My Cedar Creek 38ck. The gross weight of that 5th wheeler is 16,300. The trucked towed great on my 4,800 mile trip to South Dakota and back to CT. Of course the mileage will differ on hills, but overall I was very happy with mileage and performance

IMHO, go with the Cummins, I get 12 around town and 23 on Highway and 13 towing my 5ver at around 14,000 lbs.. Truck doesn't even the 5ver is behind us..
