I have a bd3 and a slider from them. I rarely use it you might see how your turning angle is before you invest it the slider. The hitch is expensive but is worth every penny. Also if you change trls the hitch is still there. . Day and nite over a solid hitch. Your trl front will float when you go over bumps.

After a ton of research I have decided to go with the Hensley BD3 hitch.

There are specific 5th wheels to work with short bed pickups: 5th Wheel Hitches For Short Box Pickups

I would recommend checking out Hitchweb (the link above) before purchasing anything as purchasing the wrong 5th wheel could result in damaging the bed of your truck.

Fatty1, good choice but don't pull the same trick I did. When it was still new to me I tried hooking up in the dark. Not a good idea because there is a red stripe across the top of the hitch to let you know if the hitch is locked to your camper or not. I forgot that part. Minor damage to the rails of my truck plus a scratch on the camper. It could have been much worse. Unlike me, be safe. Enjoy!

Yes, Hensley makes a slider for there hitch. I have there BD3 without the slider and love it. I also have the Reese Revolution so slider isn't necessary. The Reese sidewinder is a replacement hitch pin, won't need a slider with that no matter what hitch you use.
