New fifth wheel hitch.
We are getting a short bed truck so we will need the sliding hitch. I was considering a Hensley air ride. Do they make a slide hitch that will work?

I like my super glide hitch for my standard bed F350. It is fully automatic so I do not worry when I am backing into a site or home base. Sharp turns are not a problem as well.

Does yours have air bags in it? Or is that even an option? If not do you experience "chunking"?

What is your trailer and which TV? Have you considered an Andersen Ultimate Aluminum? I have one in a 6.6 ft std bed and its fine. No slider needed.

We just left our Reese Revolution pinbox and 16K Reese hitch to return to the PullRite 16K Superglide, with the Revolution in the fixed, or transportation, mode; and boy are we happy!
The SuperGlide on universal rails is an amazing hitch that we first came to use in 2008. I would suggest you consider it, carefully.

By the way, recent talks with 23 year and 14 year hitch installer specialists revealed that airbags (now suggested to never be lower than 5 pounds...or 3 pounds) when jumped on, immediately adjust themselves to 20 pounds. This means that the ride stays stiff at all times. We opted for low tech, but never overridden, extra leaf spring. Works great!

Simple solution, air pin box and then pick the slider hitch you think is the best for you. After 10 years I am still using the same non slider hitch that I originally bought. It still works just fine. With an adjustable jaw, I can take any slop out of the head in two minutes. I just do not see enough difference in hitches to justify the money on a new one.

I love my BD3. After breaking some front windows on a previous fifth wheel while driving on one of our concrete railroads, aka I-65 South from Louisville, I decided the cost would be worth it. I have the short bed but have never been in a place where I needed to use a slide.

If your bed is less than 6', you will have to go with a slider. Our bed is 6.5' and we use a Reese Titan 16K dual jaw hitch but have a Reese Revolution on our 5th wheel therefore we do not need a slider hitch. Works great, hardly any chunking. Can turn at 90 degrees with no problems. Cost $1k less than a slider.

5r hitch
We have a pullrite superglide for our 2006 dodge 3500 mega cab. Don't have to worry about tight turns and hitting cab. There is no clunking if the high is adjusted correctly. Pullrite also has fantastic customer service.

YUP! What you said. Pull Rite is the solution. Install it and never have to think or worry about it again.

Thanks for the feedback. We are getting a GMC 2500 and the trailer is a Sanibel 38QB. I'm brand new to this so sorry for all the questions. Is there a slide hitch that also has the airbag option? Or is it one or the other?

5r hitch
I believe pullrite is compatible with a air-ride pin box.

To answer the OP's actual question, if you wanted an air-ride hitch with a slider, you could buy any of the Trailer Saver hitches (ex. A BD3) and then get the Trailer Saver Simple Slide. The Slide attaches to the normal rails and the hitch attaches to the simple slide. It turns any of the Trailer Saver hitches into a slider.

We have the Pullrite slider hitch that was originally used on our GMC 1500 crewcab with short bed. Transferred it to our current GMC 2500 Crewcab with standard 6.5 bed. We ordered our Silverback with the Trailair pin box. Excellent combination.

5th wheel hitch
Just wondered, what's chunking?
Also, our Pullrite seems like it makes our Shockwave high on the front end.
Is this ok? And or is there any adjustment possible or necessary so we can level it out?
Thanks guys.
