New hitch rig with the new trailer? or keep the old hich rig?

Okay y'all..... need some thoughts here.

We are in the market of purchasing a new toy hauler. We currently have a Graywolf 19RR.

We have been told we can keep our old hitch set and move the hardware to the new trailer. Weights are all within the new trailer limits and fits our newer tow truck.

My hubby wants to get a new set up. Says the older set up we have is showing some ware and wants to be safe.

So my question is... Buy a new hitch set for the new trailer or have the old hitch set moved for the old trailer to the new trailer?

Thought? Comment? Suggestions?

How old is the hitch? Brand? Pics? Hitches should last a long time if it has worked or there is no problems then use it on the new camper.

It sounds to me like he's trying to just buy something new or a different make/model hitch. Don't tell him I said that though...

Uh-oh. Sounds like you are wanting us to get involved in a couple's dispute! I'll vote yes on this, without even asking for more details. If anyone has a real concern about safety, then be safe.

Given more details, I might change my mind.

WAIT! only 4 years old??
How do I change my vote?

Well we are getting a longer trailer so we will need to get sway control. His thinking is sell old hitch with our old trailer, may make it easier to sell.

I just switch it over, it's on the fourth trailer now and we usually change every five to six to six years can't beat a Heansley.

If the loaded T/W is the same you can use the same Bars. that is if they are bars for a Reese D/Cam setup? Diff.tow truck will need set up anyway. Sounds like you did not have sway control any way, just W/D? Do you have round bars or Trunion? Youroo!!

IMO (and coming from someone who never towed a long/heavy travel trailer, so take this with a grain of salt) - I'd rather have sway control integrated into the WDH rather than something bolted on. My vote is new hitch for that reason alone.

If your round bars don't have the detent curve at the end they will have to be replaced in order to add D/Cam sway control! Youroo!!

If he wants a new hitch with sway control I can't blame him there. I have a equalizer brand. That has 4 point sway control. I would suggest it to anyone, it has been a great hitch works as advertised.
