New Ram 1500

Here’s a look at the new 2019 Ram 1500.

From the research I’ve done and talking to certain people in the industry the 2500/Cummins will not change anytime soon.

I’m still on the fence with this one. It’s gone towards the GM front end. I also don’t like the Badges being sunken into the hood. I like to remove all the emblems on my vehicles. I do like the hood though in general.

What do you guys think?Click image for larger version

The pic is merely a artist's rendering, google '2019 RAM' and you'll find plenty of spy photos. Or wait a couple weeks, the Detroit auto show starts this weekend ....

Artist rendering or not it looks identical to all the google pics... Point being, it’s 99% what it’ll look like.

One thing I have against RAM is the rust. Have they gotten any better ?? A co-workers 2015 is already developing rust on back wheel wells and corners by rear bumper.

They all rust just in different places. Chevy/GM the door sills rust, on the Ford the lower rear corner of the cab will rust. I have a friend that owns a body shop and this is what he has told me. He sees all types of vehicles for rust repair right after winter.

My 2008 Dodge is just starting to rust thru the rear pickup bed wheel well fenders. I caught mine in time and have fixed this issue.

Dodge came out with rear plastic wheel wells to address the problem on the 02-08 trucks because of their bad design if you don't already have them. My '02 was just starting to show through as I apparently didn't rinse that area out on the backside enough while washing.

rustcheck it or Krown if youre near the Canadian border.

i must admit, i like it, but it is strikingly close to a Tundra...again.

i love my 2017 ram, but the new GMC 2500 and f250 are very nice design wise. moreso in my opinion than the ram...but ive got the cummins...they dont.

New Ram 1500

Looks like the rest to me, but I like it.

I guess I’m partial as I have liked them all since ‘94.

Not as Ram distinctive more retro Chevyist. I’m more interested in actual needed improvements.

Best motor & gearing all 5 Mfgs within specs IE safe & stable normally to 8k but passengers & bedload reduce this. RAM 1500 ED max tow 9,200, max axle ratings 3,900, max 09-18 CVWR 15,950, axle weights me & gear 3,240 steer 2,560 drive

It was 8 years before I started to see significant rust on my 03 F-150. Just seems that visible rust through on a 2015....is still an issue. I live in Nebraska so yeah...we see a lot of salt during the winter months too.

Living in the North like you and states using a lot of salt what does one expect if you do not wash often in these conditions.
I've seen several spy shots of the truck and is not total visible to the look of what is posted here. From what I was told the new 1500 truck should be out by March and the 3/4 and 1 ton by years end. Now I'll believe it when I see it. Normally the bigger trucks are a year out from release date of the 1500. Later RJD

Over on another site "Turbo Diesel Register" a Ram/Cummins site. There is a post stating that the 5th Gen trucks for the 2500 and 3500 models will be delayed another year. This may coincide with the announcement that FCA is moving production back to the USA from Mexico.

From reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/ram_trucks/...2019_ram_1500/)

Doesn't look bad IMHO, curious if the 6 lug axles mean the truck gets higher GVWR/payload.

Not the new Fords. I think GM is using more aluminum on the body now as well, but I don't know for sure where.
