What was the epa mpg rating? They haven't released that number if it had the etorque system. Seems weird a Laramie trim wouldn't.

Don't think the etorque comes out until later in the year.

I'm curious too, the 2019 is supposed to have some nicer towing and payload numbers.

Now that's interesting. I also bought the very first 2015 2500 that my dealership sold. Didn't even have the folding mirrors yet. I traded it 2 1/2 years later for my current dually, and got trade in value of what I paid for it!!!

I read an article in one of the industry magazines (Motor Trend or similar) that published an interview with the Ram president. He gave a number of 2,300 pounds carrying capacity and 12,750 pounds towing capacity. I’m sure the 2,300 number is for the base model and will lower as trim packages are added.

Interesting statements about the “eTorque” system. He was talking about the advantage of it providing a major increase in torque at low RPM when first accelerating. The 5.7 Hemi has lots of torque pull when at its peak around 4,000 RPM but, as with all gas engines, not a lot below 2,500 or so RPM.

He also said Ram has no plans at all to change to aluminum bodies, except for the existing tailgate and hood.

Thing I did not like was the auto tailgate which one could accidentally lower if key fob in pocket same for Ford. They also enlarged the uconnect to 12 inches from 8.4.One other nice feature is motorized running boards. Later RJD

Sounds like you looked at a high level trim package. Couldn't you avoid most of that by getting something like an SLT?

I think aceinspp is referring to the new RAM 1500 he saw on the lot or in general terms not the one he ordered

Same here!

I asked them why my truck didn't have the towing mirrors considering it had the towing package and the mirrors were listed as part of the towing package.

I was told they weren't available yet for the 2500's.

When I asked if I was going to get them when they were available...

They said "Yeah...for $1000 bucks!"

I bought a set of those CIPA slip-on mirrors (when they finally came out for my model last year) for $70 at Camping World, and after fitting them with strategically placed curved mirrors, I think I like them better than I would the stock GM towing mirrors.

I leave them on all the time...haven't taken them off since the day I got them!

You can kinda see them in this shot:

Those numbers are for the E torque and 3.92 rear end. I’m waiting for another month to order mine. I’ve got a 2015 Laramie Longhorn 1500. Beautiful truck loaded with technology but it’s undersized for my boat. This new 1500 puts my boat and trailer right in line with the towing capacity listed by the manufacturer. Unfortunately I’ve been spoiled with the technology and amenities so I’ll be dropping some serious dough on the 2019 Limited. As a side note the Ram Box features are awesome. I love the storage and convenience of being able to lock things away in there as well as use it as coolers for tailgating lol

Just keep in mine, unless Ram has changed, you can't order the Ram Box with the factory 5th wheel prep - for those ordering an HD truck eventually. It can be added after if you're handy, and there's apparently no issue according to another forum.

You are correct. I saw another version at a dealer in Cleveland, GA that also had the tow package and was also a Laramie but came in at $45000. Lot better. Later RJD
