New Salem Hitch question

Took my New 2013 Salem 27RKSS out this weekend for her first trip. My tow is a 2008 Chevy Silverado Crew with the V-8. On problem i noted was that when it came time to un-hitch i am having trouble getting teh ball to release from the coupler. Appears to be greased ok. It is a new ball that in installed when upgraded from popup to trailer.

Could just need breakin. I was going to polish the ball with some steel wool and put a nice coat of grease on it.

Just wondered if any others noticed this with there new trailer.

Thanks

I had this problem when the ball was new but also later on too.

When coupler wouldn't release from the ball ws the truck in park with the parking brake on?

Sometimes the ball ends up sitting back a tad too much in the coupler. It can help to move it forward a bit. Usually I can do this by removing the parking brake and putting it in netural. Once in a while I will need to pull forward about an inche real slow so it can release.
