New (to me) F-150 Tow Vehicle
A week ago I posted a thread asking about F-150s imported from Canada. This a follow up to that thread. Yesterday we brought our new tow vehicle home, a 2015 F-150 s-crew cab. I had a list of options that I wanted, and another list of ‘would be nice to have’ items. I’m happy to say after doing a lot of searching I found the exact truck that I wanted located about 150 miles away in Denver that had nearly everything from both lists. The truck has 65,000 miles from one previous owner, also from Colorado.
I wanted a 2015 as Ford claims to have dropped about 700lbs in weight from previous model years, supposedly improving gas milage by a little. The F-150 that I bought is equipped with the max tow package, auxiliary transmission cooler, 36 gal fuel tank, 3.55 locking rear axle, 18 inch wheels, and a whole bunch of chrome, bling and accessories that are truly remarkable. I also wanted the camel-color interior and this just happened to be the only truck I found with that.
I’m sure much to the chagrin of many of my Fellow Forum Ford F-150 (FFFF) members, I intentionally chose the 5.0L V8 over the Ecoboost. I know for certain the Ecoboost would perform better for me, particularly for where I live in the heart of the Colorado Rockies. For me, simplicity always wins my favor. When I bought my Micro-Lite, I did not opt for an electric awning, an electric jack, or even slides. With less items to fail, break or leak, my TT was an easy purchase and this line of thinking played out with my choice of engines in the truck.
I’m very thankful to the many threads re: trucks, towing, and F-150s on this forum. The education I received from others here helped me immensely.

Congrats!
As I said in your Canada thread, I also found everything I wanted in my 2014.
Including only 33k mileage.

Thanks. Yea the milage on this one is 10k to 15k higher than I hoped for. But it had everything else and I couldn't walk away. It will mostly be used for towing which will amount to only 5k to 8k miles on it a year. Thus I was able to overcome the existing 65k.

Great looking truck! All things equal to the prior generation, the '15 and newer payloads are amazing.
And, it doesn't matter what motor you got, you still have a very well matched combination with your TV and TT.
Enjoy and drive safe!
Also, check out F150 Forums as there is a plethora of information about your truck...(and ENDLESS threads about proper WDH setup moderated by the self proclaimed "Weight Police!")

I've owned various trailers from Pop Ups to my current Micro-lite. How hard you are on the peddle makes a world of difference on your gas milage.

I've owned two ecoboost F150's in the past 5 years. I think you made a good choice for long term reliability.

Thank you for your comment. A life-long friend is a Ford mechanic, has owned Ford trucks since forever, advised me to go the 5.0L route.

My new 2018 has the same color interior. Love it. I ordered mine because I wanted adaptive cruise which is the best option I ever owned in a car and I love the 10 speed transmission. Also wanted camper mirrors which is super difficult to find.
Eco-boost for me. I do a lot of towing in mountains and low end power is incredible.
