Your payload is not 3450! Where are you getting this from? Maybe if you had the 6.2 gasser but the diesel is heavy motor. I will bet a dollar to a donut your more like 8000 lb. 10k gvwr you do the math! Realistic payload is like 2000.

new 5th wheeler so only had it on one 200 mile trip. Just got a was washer dryer installed up in front, going on road tonight. The truck is sitting a little nose high, so I know I am going to have to install air bags to help level it . I know I must be getting pretty close, my dry pin weight is 1950 lbs but now I have about extra 500 pounds up front.

wow I have learned a lot about my truck the past few days research ford trucks . com here and talking to a factory rep. found out my door sticker 10.000 gvw front axels 6,000lbs. rear axels 7,280lbs. with camper tow package anti sway bars all I never new I had . factory rep said can tow it for sure but maybe not legally until I weigh everything loaded the way i'm going to use it and then weigh front axles ,rear axles, separate camper separate then I will know my camper weight my hitch weight and my gvw I do have a cdl licence so the 26,000 will not apply in some states in most its not a issue being non commercial

just ordered a 2015 f 350 with a 11500 door sticker 8 ' box and a 18k hitch it seems to be the choice towing among the units i see on the road like mine . without going to the 7-8 mpg dually the 250 towed it not to bad but i think this is answer for me towing the unit very little times .

I went through this myself. WE had a 2011 F-250 6.2L gasser. Fully loaded for camping with the 5th wheel hitch in the bed and my wife and I on board we weighed 7720 leaving us 2280 for the pin weight. After weighing that we were only a couple hundred pounds under the 10K GVWR. No margin for error.

The solution? 2013 F-350 diesel dully 14K GVWR. The difference in towing was night and day!
