New Tow vehicle using old WDH

I have a 2005 F150 which I tow a 2011 26TBSS with a tongue weight of 860 pounds. The F150 has a max tongue weight of 990 lbs.I am now going to tow it with a 2005 Ford Excursion that has a max tongue weight of 1100 lbs. My question is, can I use my WDH settings from the old TV with the new TV?

That depends on whether or not the two vehicles have exactly (or very close to) the same hitch height. WDH setting are pretty much vehicle specific. When I switched from a 1500 two wheel drive to my Ford fX4 I had to completely reset my hitch.

When switching from my armada to my f250 and from my f250 to my silverado 3500 I had to adjust each time. Whether up down, front back or just chains. Remember the receiver height may not be the same on both vehicles. You will need to do your measurements all over again. I personally find it easiest and more correct to adjust by weighing my rig but others adjust by measurements.

You can use it but will have to adjust height like the others have said. I went from an F150 to a Ram 2500 and had to drop it to the bottom of the shank.

Even if the hitch head is the same height, other factors may require readjusting. I had the receiver on my truck replaced after a rear end collision damaged it, and I had to readjust the WDH even though the hitch was at the same height. The angle of the receiver may have been different.
