What trailer will you be towing? If you are not limited by towing capacity (ie. 9000 plus) look into the GM with the 6.2. It's in the 1500 series. More torq., more hp, better gas milage than the 6.0. Granted, it falls behind a diesel on the hills, but I'm not in that big of a hurry anyway.

2008 Vortec Max 1500, 6.0 gas, 4:10 rear towed a 5th wheel from PA to Georgia in Febuary..... 715 miles, used 87.5 gallons of gas and averaged 8.1 miles to the gallon...Price per gallon averaged $3.75....Yes it cost me a small fortune round trip, but it was worth it we spent a week with my son before he was deployed to Afgan ( second time around).

The truck towed great.
