Picked up our new to us used 2010 Chevy 3500 1 ton express 12 passenger tow beast yesterday. I pulled the trailer out of the barn today. Was hoping to take a drive to see how it pulled but Noah could use the ark around here so the gravel roads we live on are mud and I decided to wait since the trailer is clean. did tow it up and down the paved driveway which goes up hill. I only had the trailer on the ball without the trunnions(i think thats what they call those) hooked up for the wdh. did not even sag the van. My 1/2 Silverado used to sag big time with the Rockwood 8316 hooked up without the wdh on. this van is rated to tow 9700 pounds with the 6.0 v8 324 hp 6 speed transmission and trans and oil coolers. I don't think I would tow that much(and i know people gear take that number down) but I did not even notice the trailer when I gave it gas and went up the incline of our drive. I am sure what i will notice is passing trucks or being passed with the higher profile of the van. it does not have the plush fancy gadgets that a suburban or suv would have but the kids have plenty of room in this thing to bring a few extra buddies.
