New TV to me!

Hello all! It's been awhile since I've been here. Updated my TV 2 times! Went from a 95 Silverado, then to a 2010 Tahoe, Now in a 2009 Silverado! The Silverado has the HD towing package and the 5.3 with exhaust and cold air. So it can easily tow my 19' Shammy. I haven't towed with it yet and I'm getting everything ready for the maiden voyage.

I do have a hitch question. The measurement from the hitch to the middle of the recv is 7"! The truck isn't lowered. Do I just get a 6-8" riser? It seems like a lot, since my Tahoe uses just a 2" drop.

Does anyone else have a 2009 Silverado 1500 and towing a 19' shamrock (2009)

Any Other advise?

Btw it has the K5L package which has capacity of 9600lbs and a GCWR of 15000lbs
