Newer Ford options

Have the new F350 in the signature. Supposed to have the heated mirrors. Be darned if I can find the switch for them per the owner's manual. Supposed to be able to turn then off/on via the Sync3 system too, nothing there. I'm thinking they may be fully automatic but I'd prefer manual option and Ford ought to at least update the manual if that's the case. Also, is there a way to force a regen or do you have to wait for a message in order to do that?

Mine come on whenever I turn on the rear window defroster strips.

My copy of the owners manual says:

HEATED EXTERIOR MIRRORS (If Equipped) When you switch the heated rear window on, the heated exterior mirrors turn on.

They already answered the heated mirror part above, and there is supposed to be a way to start a manual regen. I'm not sure if it's part of one of the trim/packages, or if there is another way to do it. I saw something on it, but can't remember or find it. I'm betting if you search on Youtube, you can find it though.

I have the F-250 XLT version, nicely equipped. They are some nice trucks. Congratulations.

Thanks for all replies everyone! My old f250 the side mirror heaters just came on whenever you selected the regular heat to defrost. Didn't have a rear window defroster like the new one. Owners manual is very misleading on this. Makes me wonder what else is wrong in there.

My owners manual says the same as SailorSam's... not sure what is misleading in that statement?

Does your say something differently?

Your dealer may be able to reprogram the truck PCM and instrument cluster, so the driver can force a manual regen. The older models required the base instrument cluster.

Send a message via AIM to B and B
I am not sure why you want a manual Regen? I have had two diesel trucks and they look after it themselves.

It's just what my owner's manual say you should be able to do. When I can I'll try to post a pic of it.
