I've had Ford 7.3s Dodge Hemi & the Dodge with the Cummins my only regret was the Hemi..... great truck great engine....... Just not enough torque & the fuel milage was not great.... The gas Hemi Pulling a 25' 8K Fifth wheel got 8mpg my Cummins pulling a 35' 13K fifth wheel gets over 12mpg. Pulls much better too. Would not go back to gas...... I have used Rotella in all my diesels over the years. Happy Happy Happy.....................

Steve09, You're on top of the engine management situation by knowing your critical values. My bet is you've installed a Scangauge II to monitor the system. Good Yob! As OP have mentioned, keep 'er stock with no tune if you want longevity. I love my 6.0L. It's an incredible engine.

all brands have their strengths and weaknesses, but pulling power in not a weakness any of them can claim. you wont be able to wipe the grin off your face as well wonder why you didnt buy one earlier. set cruise at your desired speed and enjoy the ride.

I have to add to what everone else is saying. I just upgraded to a chevy 3500 dually diesel and a new 5th wheel. I towed it from Ohio to Va, and it was mostly mountains. One stretch was a 6% grade for 11 miles. No problems for the diesel. I towed that same route a couple years ago with my gas suv and the mountains ate up some gas. You won't regret having a diesel. Money well spent.
