They just unveiled the 2016 DX Titan, specs are sparse. I have seen 12,000 lbs tow mentioned and 2000 lbs payload. Being a ex Titan driver (supplied work truck) and liking the truck I might look at the Titan if it can tow and haul. Fully North American designed as well.

2000 lb payload is pretty lame since a Ecoboost F150 is about 2250. I would bet the price is more than my 2014 1 ton Chevy Duramax

For any brand of truck, the limiting factor is almost always payload.

Titan will have the same problem with the diesel motor that Ford has with the Ecoboost. It is a lot of motor; which tempts people to overload the truck because the motor happily pulls it.

exactly. Too many just look at towing capacity and figure they are fine. I'm sure an alarming number of people are over payload and don't know it. I'll stick with my 1 ton so I have plenty of breathing room

When comparing sticker prices I see the comments being made it costs the same. It might but need to look at options, trim packages and paint. A Base 1 ton truck with rubber floor mats, AM/FM Radio, one coat paint and no options can cost the same. Add a few things and they don't cost the same any longer.

This is a nice looking truck..

I'm a member of a Titan forum. The big gripe is the cheesy looking fake vent on the front fender. The interior is very nice, but the jury is still out on the exterior styling...Prices have not been let out of the bag yet. There will be multiple trim levels also, as well as a few gas burner options yet to be released.

An HD F150 (which you have to order) will never tow as well as the Cummins equipped Titan. Just a hunch but I'd be willing to bet the Titan gets better mpg's as well. Towing and non towing.
JMHO but the 12,000lb tow rating Ford applies to the F150 is ridiculous. Try towing that for 8-10,000 a year and see what you have for a truck after 5 years. Any diesel truck will out last a small turbo gasser.

I'm fully aware. That's why I have a 1 ton Duramax, to out tow all of them
