NO... Water does not have to reach 212 degrees to turn into a gas. Water vapor rises off the surface of any body of water as a natural course. That body of water can be as big as the Pacific Ocean, or as small as a single drop of water. Evaporation is a most natural process, and without it, life as we know it would not exist. The process is aided by elevated temperatures, but water doesn't even have to be in a liquid state to evaporate. Water molecules separate from solid ice just as they do from liquid.

When are the rest of you going to stop believing the nitrogen myth? It's a scam... nothing more.

As I said before.... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Lou,

Annnd the N2 crowd will STILL swear by N2!

I think the operative word in this thread is "dung" , and whether you get it for free or not, a lot of it is doled out.

We do have a choice, not to read, but it's always nice to hear others opinions. And here is a place to insert a quotation in my signature taken from a world leader a few years ago.

"I have opinions of my own --strong opinions-- but I don't always agree with them."

nitrogen for tires

I would like to thank all the contestants for playing which gas is right.

The important thing is, whatever one decides is check tire pressure regularly, check the condition of tires and most of all ....

Never bring up the following subjects at Thanksgiving dinner

Politics
Religion
Nitrogen or Air in tires

Also salt only influences the outside of tire and rimm, the inside does not contain much salt even in sea suroundings.

I was assured by a man from a valve importer that the tire inside can incidentially get that 212 degrees .
For instance when deschending mountains, when severe braking for longer times.

for most tires this will never happen, but tires and valves must be able to stand the pressure rising, and are tested to can stand this higher pressure at 212 degrees F.

We put rock salt on our iced down beer to make our beers slushy and bottles of water frozen. Try it.
Sublimation accrues at 27 deg.F. and below that's were water as a solid (ice) passes from a solid state to a vapor state without going through the liquid state. LOL you learn something every day no matter how old you are. LOL
