No Trailer lights and Brake Controller not plugged in

I hooked up my trailer and no trailer lights.

I used a testing plug to see if truck female plug in ok....tester lighted up. Checked fuses on truck, in the electrical controller box in trailer....all ok. But....I remember did not have by brake controller plugged in. Could that cause an incomplete circuit....and effect the entire trailer light system if controller not hooked up???

Trailer now in storage and several hours away so can't check it now.

I have a Tekonsha controller and has a cord with plus which can be disconnected when no in use.

No, the lack of a brake controller won’t affect your lights so that’s not it. I’d start by checking for a bad ground with the trailer wiring if none of the lights are working since the ground would be common to all lights. If it were only a specific set of lights not working I would start by checking that circuit.
