How often do you change the oil in your diesel truck? What kind of oil? I change my own oil

Mine holds 14 quarts. I use 12 qts Rotella 15w40 and 2 qts Sheaffers 7000 15w40 and set the trip for 5000 but mine is mostly town driving. It is cheap insurance.

10K factory interval with synthetic. So far, I've had the dealer do my 10K, 20K and 30K services (one was free, so couldn't pass that up.) I may start doing my own at some point, but until the factory warranty runs out (I know, you don't HAVE to have the dealer do it to keep the warranty intact, but its more ammo if something goes wrong,) I'll keep having the dealer do it.

Rotella 15w-40 and filter every 5000 miles. Blackstone labs said I was overdoing it when I sent in an oil sample and that I could go longer but it makes me feel better to change it more often.

I follow the oil life sensor on the dash. Was at 5100 when it was just changed by the dealer for free. The sensor read 30% so I am sure I would have made over 6000.

Depends on the truck. Do you have a DPF? What does the manufacturer recommend? I use Amsoil in the Libby. Not sure what I will be using in the 1500 yet, as it has just a few hundred miles.

Owner's manual says 15K or 6 months. I'm doing my own using Rotella T6 Synthetic every 10K which is hitting that 6 month interval pretty much right on. Takes 12 quarts. Fuel filters every other oil change.

My truck is new but the manual say 12k miles and to use Rotela 15w 40. My old truck I changed it every 5000 miles or once a year. We only use it for towing so once a year is long before the miles add up usually.

In my diesel trucks I have always used use Rotela 15w40. I usually change it every 5000 miles which ends up being once a year. We mainly use it for towing ( I do have 5 trailers) so once a year is usually about 5000 miles. If do go over I'm not worried about it. I have a small local shop that will change it while I wait for $10 if I bring the oil & filter.
