Old truck/new truck
Just got our new 2009 F250. Has a supercab, long box and V10. The pic below is of our new and old ones nose to nose. The old one was a 2000 F150 with a V6. The old one was marginal on power at times on hills. The new one is in a whole different league. Tim Taylor would be excited!
I found a website where I could enter the VIN and got a 6 page printout of all the options that came with it. The flippin' owner's manual is over 400 pages!! It's got automatic everthing just about. The only thing automatic in the old truck is the transmission. What an amazing truck the F250 is. Can haul up to 12,500 lbs. The old one seems like a little toy now and could only handle a 5,800 lb trailer.
Can't wait for good weather and to tow the trailer somewhere.

Congrats on your new truck!
Is that website specific to Ford only?

handbuilder, the website is Comprehensive Chevrolet, Saturn, GMC, Hummer, Cadillac, Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Geo, Dodge, Plymouth, Jeep, Chrysler, Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Mazda Truck, Mercedes VIN Decoder. I think it might only let you do a one-time trial VIN check and then you have to register. It will work with all major US automakers and Mazda. Will do up to early 2012.
Pretty nifty site for those who have bought a pre-owned vehicle. Might even be worth using when looking to buy a vehicle. Ours had many extra features that the dealer we bought it from didn't know about like limited slip diff. for eg. And we have a factory remote start in it but no key fob for it. That could be handy.
We just got back from a short run on the interstate in Washington and man, the V10 has awesome acceleration. Almost neck-snapping compared to the old V6.

Congrats on the truck! The thrill of that acceleration will be tempered once you fill the fuel tanks a few times!

Very nice truck! You won't struggle up the hills now. You know it's funny - my dad had a regular cab Ford when I was younger and it was a truck. After owning an extended cab and seeing others along with the crew cabs, the regular cabs do look like toys now.

My 9 year old daughter rides in our 3500 crew cab/long bed truck - so far she's said that other people have "little" trucks and that our friends have a miniature truck (Nissan something or other).
To the OP - nice truck! Have fun with it!

My 2 year old refers to my F250 as "daddy's big truck.". He refers to my Tundra as "daddy's little truck"!
OP, you'll really enjoy that truck. Mine has been awesome. Feels like you could pull a house! Well, at least a mobile one anyway.
