I don't think they are bashing the LBZ. It's the price they are bashing! Without even seeing it, that truck is overpriced by about 6 grand. I am one that believes that the LBZ and 6 speed Allison is the way to go. That is why I own one.

Take the 2015 with the 4.10 rear. We have the 2010 2500HD with the 3.73 wishing we had the 4.10. Pulls like a champ though.

They changed from their classic style 16 inch aluminum rim to that not so pretty 17 inch rim as the standard wheel option in 2011. Same bolt pattern though. 8x6.5.

I don't understand the huge problem with DEF. I buy bulk and costs me about $5 per 5000 km's.

Not true. They went to the 8x180mm bolt pattern in 2011. Like I said earlier, nothing was changed for 2013.

Well I guess my wheel shop was incorrect. I just double checked with the duramax forum and 2011 it is. I figured when they changed brakes they would have changed the hub at the same time.

I would go with the newer one if your set on these two trucks. But honestly they both seem really overpriced, this all depends on where your located vehicle prices vary a lot depending on location.

I don't believe you can get anything but 3.42 on the 2500. The 3500 comes with 3.73 with an option for 4.10... if I remember correctly... but I'm OLD. What was this thread about?

That '07 classic is a mighty fine truck, I used to own one and my son still sticks it to me why I sold it - having said that, the one you're looking at is way overpriced but so is the '15.
The diesel is 8 years old and the gasser will cost you every time you pull up at the pump, esp. with the 4.10 diffs. (3.73 on the D/A) but the diesel might still outlive the newer truck. If you do decide to get the diesel make sure you get a decent drivetrain warranty!!! - you never know how it was treated by the previous owner.

X2. I like the diesel but I live in ca. I have a 06 ram 3500 5.9 cummins. It gets great mileage and plenty of power. When we lived in eastern wa I saw a lot of diesels with problems from not maintaining water Separator

Well, I went and test drove the diesel last night. The truck is loaded with every option I can think of, including a moon roof and flip down DVD player for the kids (so this truck definitely has their vote).
The truck seemed to drive really well. There is a set of fifth wheel rails in the back, so I asked the sales guy what kind of trailer the previous owner pulled. He said that he knew it was a camper, but was not sure how big of a trailer it was. Other than that, the truck looks almost new yet. No rips in the leather, and looks like it was very well taken care of inside and out.
The salesman gave me the previous owners name, so I am going to call him tonight and see what size trailer he pulled, and also ask many other questions about his PM work he did throughout the years on the truck. The salesman did say that the guy traded this truck in on a new GMC diesel that they had on their lot.
The 2015 is set up for a test drive tomorrow afternoon. I hope to be able to make my decision within the next few days.

Quite frankly, i bought a Brand new Dodge Ram 2500 with 6.4 hemi for 1k less than that. Coupled with the discounts on financing, I think you may want to look at new.
Trucks have such a high resale value that you are often better off buying a new truck than used. The old adage of letting someone take the depreciation doesn't apply any longer on these trucks

This is exactly the situation I find myself in. As far as the value of the 2007 LBZ CC 4x4 "D'" code engine, I just missed one by a few hours yesterday in MD. It sold at $32500 with 58,000 miles just after it hit the lot. Missed another one last weekend by a day and had 60,000 miles and sold for $31500. That pre DPF engine is very sought after. I'm in Virginia and have been looking from NC to MD for one. As soon as one hits the market with decent miles on it, service records available and good condition, it's GONE! I'm also looking at a 2500hd with the 6.0l. So I understand the OP's dilemma. I want to be sure that if and when I upgrade my trailer maybe to a 5th wheel, I have enough for the mountains of the West without killing the truck. I'm looking at a 2011 2500HD with the 6.0l with only 7,800 miles.... $36000. I know 2011 was a great year for that truck with the 6.0l. I feel your pain.
