$3700 for our last truck and current fifth wheel. It hasn't updated yet to reflect that I just got a new car a couple of months ago and that hubby traded in and got a 2015 GMC Sierra 3500HD Denali. The new bill is expected to be over $6500 (for 2 vehicles and the fifth wheel)!
Add that to the $11,000 per year for property taxes on the house! Yep, we're talking $17,500 in freaking property taxes to live in the state that I refer to as Connecticrap!
In case you are wondering.......Yes, our house is for sale and we want to move to the Carolinas!

we feel the same pain. I live in CT as well and pay out close to 20k a year overall in real estate and car taxes. We're looking to sell our house and move to NC within the year. The issue we're facing is paying realtor more then I'm going to walk away with but at this point the money I'll gain over the years in NC, may be worth the upfront loss

I feel your pain! We've lived here for 9 years and are selling at a huge loss. Our house wasn't done when we purchased and so we put another HUGE amount of $ into it. Add that to our down payment and you're left with a 6 digit loss. We literally have to write a check at closing in order to get out. It makes me want to vomit!

Same here, when we signed our final build sheet for the house, the market crashed an hour later and been down since. We'd have to write a check that matched our down payment just to get out as well. Not six figures but close enough.

You might want to rethink NC if you work. The State Income tax there is extremely high. I moved from there years ago as I was making a pretty good living at the time with an out of state company and I was paying over 7% NC income tax. The savings made my mortgage payment on a home in Florida.

I will try to stay within the guide lines and make note these are my interpretations...
If the taxes we pay were spent on actual items that would benefit the country or it's people, then all would be good. The taxes that are wasted on crappy studies that should be done when monies are more available. Spend money on the important stuff and let the others go until we can afford it. JMO

I think I would consider moving to Carolina s it's not cheap either. Ga if moving to right area and retired you get big breaks on taxes when you turn 65. Later RJD
