State income tax 4.35%
State income tax on all pension income over $40,000 is 4.35%.
Our federal income tax is a lot worse. And then the province gets more and 15% sales tax after that.
At the end of the year my take home from 90 plus grand takes me home

Personal property tax varies greatly in Virginia from one City and County to the next............................

Ours is 48.8 cents per $100, we pay about $600 for the camper & truck together. The house is a the same.....Our real estate tax is very low.

The state gets their $ one way or another.

Paying VA Property Taxes also
We pay $3.50 per $100.00, in this county do not know why; nothing here.

I don't know if this was mentioned, did not read all posts. Nomad I believe you are paying so high because you are not getting the tax benefit like the cars. Check to see how your truck is registered. Something that has to do with the weight of the truck. After a certain weight you get taxed higher.

At least there is accountability at the Political level and its not left to the insurance companies to deliver as little as possible to maintain profit margins.
The bottom line is if you want services then they have to paid for and this is just one way of doing it. Its a political choice at the end of the day how you do it.
Oh we dont pay Fees or taxes for RV tags in Ontario. Now work that out

In New Hampshire they stick it to you on vehicle registrations for the trailer, motorhome or tow vehicle. It's so expensive to live in New Hampshire that we are moving this year. Our property taxes are now $8200 per year on a 1500 SF house!

I didn't know there was a Reinaldo property tax on a trailer. Here in Illinois we pay for a plate sticker every year, that's really all the government gets from us for our trailer.

Registration is based on weight, not value, and is pretty reasonable.
Ga put in new laws now as you will no longer tell them what you payed for a used vehicle they look up book price and that is what the value will be taxed on. BTW property tax here for me 3/4 acre 1350 sq ft house $280 a year. Later RJD
