Here in Springfield MA we paid $82 for a 2008 dodge durango and $498 for our 2015 cruise lite 195bh.

Looking at others I'd say we got it good.

These taxes are insane. How do you keep living where you do? No such tax in Florida. Just nominal yearly tag tax and we enjoy all of the other State Parks when we travel. What a deal!

It is a balancing act. For some of us that live in high personal property tax states, our true property tax on our homes is very low…but boy do we make up for it on toys.

I used to live in TN, was even considering retiring there, but the Hall Income tax and the humidity kept me in the west. Then they did away with the Hall...
That's life...: but they still have that summer humidity. trink39:

License plates on my Silverado were $100.00 for TWO years.
Trailer plates are not that bad; except they add a stupid sticker that supports the parks and makes me mad since I never go to any state run parks.

But thankfully, we have no personal property tax.

No personal property tax in DE. Or sales tax. You do pay .0375% of the net value of a vehicle at the time of purchase. Our property taxes are fairly low too, and the further south you go, the less they are.

in CT, I pay $1000 on the TT ('13 Tracer 3200BHT) and on my 2014 Chevy 1500 I paid $1300. As of now, I haven't received a tax bill on my 2016 GMC 2500. I'm looking to tag my camper in Delaware actually and maybe my cars even. Used to live there and I'm in their border limits in tagging a cars there.

Be glad you are not in Calif. Los Angeles taxes will drive you out of town ! No property tax on vehicles, just high sales tax- just under 10% and high annual registration, (I just paid $441.00 on my 2014 Solera.) They even get you with a 1.5% "tourism tax" in my town at the grocery store and the locals are forced to pay it!

In Georgia for a travel trailer there is only an advalorum tax plus tag. Mines about $350. Advalorum is paid up front at purchase of a vehicle so for my truck the tag fee is $20. Personal property comes in if you own something like a boat. My insurance runs about $500 a year on the trailer.

Where are you, what is your tow vehicle and what do you pay?

Just renewed the license, $135 for 3 years, no other taxes.

Our 2015 Missouri PP taxes came to $941.75 which include a 2010 8' utility trailer, 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland, 2013 Ford Focus, and 2014 Forester. Counties around larger cities in the state are higher. Incidentally, RVs are taxed on length.

When I lived in Indiana, I paid yearly personal property taxes about $2000 on motorhome, $250 on car and truck, and about $200 on boat. Sales tax and real estate taxes were also high. Indiana also had state income tax. That is why I moved to Texas.

I think (not sure) that my truck tags are $30.00 per year and the same with the 5th wheel. If not it's not much more. Insurance is based on the community in which you live. More expensive for instance in Orlando and Tampa than it would be in Zephyrhills.
Yea we love Florida. Just pay for the Tags and house tax is like 700 a year. We also own 21 acres of land just 10 miles north of our house. One of the 5 acre lots is like $18 a year for taxes. I would not live in a state that charges income tax and property tax.

Car insurance is way high in Florida and property insurance is ridiculous. My homeowners went from 3500 to 500 when I moved from Florida to Indiana and car insurance was cut by two thirds. The $700 personal property tax for my car, truck and trailer, plus a small income tax was well worth the move for me. The home property taxes were about the same.
