Yes for the most part. Always was a V8 guy, tried the eco, bad experience, back to the V8. Gas mileage may be better in the eco when not towing but, not that substantive. We travel with four other couples all with pretty much same trailers. The others have a chevy and dodge and we usually fill up together, there was no big difference. I think the V8 will outlast the V6 eco-boost if used a lot to tow, but that is to be determined I guess.

I just picked up a XLR Hyper Light 29 hfs about 8klbs - f150 ecoboost w max tow 12.5k tow capacity 4:11 gears -- towed from Ohio to Seattle I have the receipts the documented Milage at every stop and the computer stated exactly what the calculation stated 4.9 to 6.7 MPG the whole trip home - I even stopped by Ford because I thought something was wrong - they called the big wigs at ford and they "stated that was normal Milage for what I was towing "

My average speed was 60 to 65 with pretty good head winds all the way to Montana then none, no higher and 55-60 through WA - I will say the the f150 has no problem towing 8k crazy power and 6 speed tranny was defiantly tuned correct for towing - and can you say plush very nice interior this truck has every option available. My complaints Obvious the MPG when towing - some say you can't go over 63mph to get 10mpg yeah right! And the second complaint the f150 w max tow rides like a 1 ton dang this thing has a stiff suspension - I no longer think WA has bad roads - the Midwesterners have us beat for bad roads by far........

It's replacing a 2012Nissan Frontier. The Fronty was "just enough," in my opinion, to tow our TT. But sometimes, like hilly areas, just enough wasn't really enough.

I have a lot more confidence in this truck, and it is a whole lot nicer. I can't wait to hook it up and get camping!!!

Great looking truck. I love the color. I am waiting for my '15 Ecoboost 3.5 F150 as well.

I have a max tow (3.73) and get 9-11 MPG pulling our 35' SolAire. Maybe you are REALLY heavy on the gas peddle?

These numbers held true from Minneapolis to Yellowstone and back last summer going an average of 60-65.

Picked up a 2011 F150 Ecoboost

Kash 76

I'm not known for a light foot 😃 but I did try all kinds of driving habits on the way back to get the Milage up - - as soon as we got home not towing - truck resumed normal Milage - You can never have to much HP!

It is a very nice truck - so don't get me wrong - very nice - it just doesn't have 4 wheel steering which Is why Im having a hard time giving up on my TV that has almost 300k on her.

That's impressive. I don't even get that empty pulling nothing on the highway unless I'm coasting down a long hill.
