Picked up new truck

Brought the new pickup home from the dealer Saturday. We traded in our 3/4-ton 2011 Ram Laramie for the 1-ton 2016 version. They've added a lot of bells and whistles.

Can hardly wait to hook it to the fifth-wheel and head out for a few days -- probably about a week from now. Think we're going to really like the cargo box camera when it comes time to hitch.

We've put on only a hundred miles or so, but the diesel mileage is already better than we got with the '11. And I love the instrument cluster with the functions and gauges that you can customize. It's also way quieter than the 2011, which we thought was very quiet.

Congrats on the new truck, I would like to see the smile on your face the first time you pull a hill with your rig attached.

That is one item I got when I got my 2015 Ram. I do like having it. No more twisting my body to see the hitch just turn on the box cam. Congrats and enjoy.

Question ----

How is the ride on the 3500??? We tried 2 out the and the ride was terrible. I asked salesman if I order he "air leveling" if the springs would be softer and the answer was NO same springs but the truck will remain level. I cannot agree with that unless a person was to load all to 1 side or if one was to overload the truck and the air ride would bring it back to level.

I am now looking at a Ford but I hate to give up the Cummins..

Have a good one

Another case of a salesman talking when he should say "I'm not certain, let me find out and get back to you."

To answer the question, the rear air assist removes most of the regular 3500 spring pack. The ride is not bad at all. In fact, my 3500 DRW with rear air assist rides better than the 3500 SRW it replaced. Always the same ride height, which is nice.

I wish I could get a new dually but DW says no, when we park she doesn't want to walk any further than we do now with the SRW. Enjoy the truck
