Popping noises when turning normal or disastrous??

Obvious newbs but when we turn we hear what I can only describe as some kind of popping or loud rubbing noise coming from the trailer/hitch. Is that abnormal?

Travel trailer, is that a bumper puller? Yes to the WDH.

Turning noise?

Check other threads here and you more than likely don't have a Blue Ox equalizer hitch. Present trailer is our third rig and my first Blue Ox WD hitch which seems a bit softer than the previous sway bar equalizer hitches I've used.

That should not be a problem unless you see something broken or loose on the frame.

WDH does make noise when turning. Not all but most do.

Can you provide the year, make and model of your travel trailer? Also, what type, brand of WDH do you tow with? Are you also using an add on friction sway bar?
I will assume you hear there popping sounds while turning and going slow?

.
.

Grease the ball and if you have an EQUILIZER four way Weight Distribution Hitch (WDH) they make a pad to reduce noise. I also grease the WD bars on the sides.

These hitches also need grease where the WD bar hinges/moves. (In the owners manual) and correct torque

2017 26DBH. 500$ hitch with sway bars. Neither of us know the brand . Yes, it's when we are going slow and turning.

Thanks for the tip about greasing!

Axle grease on the ball and also the pivot points on your weight distribution bars. This is where I found most of my noise coming from. I have a Reese straight line hitch. Now the only noise I get is a pop sometimes when the trunnion bars return to the cam saddles.

We have been using white grease, rather than the dark color. Much easier to clean up and works good for us.

popping noise.

Do you have a friction type sway control? If yes, it is normal.

We carry a grease gun. The weight distribution hitch requires it often. We had terrible sounds until we learned that.
