Its fun looking at all the set-ups, so I figured I should contribute. A trip last summer to the Linville/Blue Ridge area of the NC mountains. All lined up - our 2011 Surveyor up-front, my parents in the Motorhome in the middle, and my sister's family in the trailer bringing up the back. Cheers.

The day we took ownership of the 2012 Salem 27 RKSS. Not without its issues
2000 miles on it - one weekend camping trip and tires worn off on all 4 outside treads, deadbolt seized, awning clips failed and Forest River has not reimbursed us a cent.

Oh and the hauler destroyed not one but 2 of the jacks.

Its a nice trailer which we hope will turn around in luck and give us yrs of enjoyment.

We had been camping old fashion style in tents but too many military injuries meant I needed something a bit softer to sleep in.

That's too bad. We have a 2011 Salem we got last April and the only problems we've had is a little fridge fan issue and a pocket door that needed a little adjustment.Hope your luck turns around for the better.

the jacks are overrated lol. I replaced them with aftermarket ones.
The problem has been dealers in Fredericton don't want to do any warranty work for Forest River citing its a US purchased unit.
Purchased while on extended service placement in the US. It would be the same as if I had purchased it in Calgary and moved via posting to NB or NS.
And the Forest River main office in the States hasn't assisted either - at least not to this point...

We ran into the same issue. We bought our trailer from a small independent dealer who brought it in from National RV in Detroit. We did this because we saved about seven thousand dollars this way.The Forest River dealer here then wouldn't work on it so the small dealer got an independent repair shop to take our warranty work for us.

Dont know if this is helpful. My local dealer is a Forest River dealer but not for the Grey Wolf line. They do take care of my warranty work by getting authorization from F.R. to do the work.
They are a great bunch of folks that understand how to do business, and that everyone who comes through your door IS a customer in one form or another.
  • DeHaan RV Center
  • Wisconsin RV Dealer
  • 9 Deere Road
  • (Hwy 67 – Exit 25)
  • Elkhorn, WI 53121
It's refreshing to deal with a company that still understands what "Customer Service" really means

Cool

Remember the jacks I spoke of.
Here is the reason the trailer twisted...
The support block the trailer hauler set the trailer up on following a 3 day onslaught of rain rain and you guessed it MORE RAIN (Hurricane).
The hauler looked at me and said - their only a buck 25 (125 a piece) just go get some more.

Oh the 12 tonne jack and blocks under the jack are mine.

If ever you didn't want the blocks put to you that time was not it. The better half happened to be in the trailer when it hopped off the mega block and swung to the left.

Wait, Wait, Wait!!........Didn't the "hauler" chock the wheels BEFORE unhooking? Or chock them at all? If they were chocked on both sides, front and rear then the twisting couldn't have happened.

I should think that if the "hauler" didn't properly secure the TT then, he should be responsible for reimbursing you for the new jacks.

Wow...greenery! Wish we had some of that out here in southern Nevada . We've had enough of brown.

Nope. No wheel chocks... and a 4 inch by 3 inch post block. Hurricane rains in the area the week and up a couple days before. Actually when we had some problems with the trailer itself repaired a couple days into ownership on the trip home Forest River has yet to cover the initial costs we had to lay out for warranty work. That was September 2011.
