2011 21rr

You can't see much of it, but my TV is a 2010 1/2 ton crew cab, Silverado with Vortec 5.3L, Allison, Z-71 4x4, 4.73 gears, tow pack. and rated to pull 9500# (7600# with truck loaded according to the calculator I used), Draw-tite 1000# bars, friction sway control. The Cherokee 21RR is claimed to be 4407# UVW, 4600# more like it with gas, battery, etc. With 1500# to 1700# of "stuff" including my Vulcan 900LT the grand total is about 6300# with 680# of that on the tongue. It could use a better sway control, but pulls great on flat country and possible in the mountains. Staying under 65 it averages a skosh under 11MPG with trailer... at 70-75 without the trailer a little over 18MPG. Chevy says 20MPG... never happen! And, I get better than average as a driver.

Haha, thats great.

Quick question for you. How come you guys flat tow these instead of on a car trailer? The reason I ask, it would seem that there is a lot more wear on the car, and don't some of the cars (especially the older ones with mechanical speedometers) put miles on the clock when being towed.

Just curious, a small car trailer had can be had for $1200 to $2000, add in a wind/bug/stone deflector and the car would stay in better shape longer?

Wear is not my concern as it is minimal tire wear if any.
I do it more for convience and ease of hooking up and going.
Trailers are more expensive as well as lic and registration.
Also whe you stop you have to figure the extra room needed to store the trailer. Also my Georgetown has V10 gas engine and the trailer weight is not needed. I'm also in my 60's so I don't want a lot of work on my part.
Does this sound reasonable?

WOW! I have the same setup, except my F250 has the 6.2L gas. Same color and very similar camper, Crusader 320RLT. My wife picked that color truck because it had to match the camper.

No, 2010 was the last year of the older engines.. Didn't want to be one of the first with ecoboost, so bought the 2010.

I am pulling with the 5.4L with Max Tow and it pulls/stops great. I have the Reese Dual Cam 1200lb setup which keeps things in line..
