If you have 4x4, have you looked at the front hub as far as what it is pointed at?

Hey Brendan,

Is your ford the 6ft bed? Notice your NOT using a slider. Any issues? I thought with the new radiused front caps it wouldn't be necessary but most here said you absolutely needed one.

In case anybody is wondering, the car is RWD with a 6L80 Transmission and L76 V8 6.0Lt. The car weight close to 4,000 Lbs. The car was supposed to be towing the Camperr, however, replaced an old vehicle for a 2016 Colorado. The truck took the spot. So.... decided to finish what started to see how it does. I have to say, is better than the truck.

Have been researching on the Aussie forums and got it down. Has the GM Holden Tow Bar (hitch) with the GM Holden wire harnesess. The L76 pulls nicely, does not sway, does a better job than my 16 Colorado. The driving characteristics is as good as having nothing on the back. Kept it to 55 MPH, the Camper Tires are rated to 70 MPH anyway. Added a tramsmission cooler to it as major component (beside the Class 3 hitch).

Got it to squat about 1/2 inch on front wheels and 3/4 on the rear with the Weight Distribution Hitch and 1/2 difference (front and back) on the Travel Trailer.

So you had that shipped from Holden? No issues getting it registered in the states? Or is it a regular G8?

The G8 was engineered by Holden (a GM Brand in Australia). Most of the parts are interchangeable. I think that’s where the OP is coming from.

The Aussies get all the fun stuff..

The GM Zeta Platform was developed by GM Holden. The same platform is found in the New Camaro. The front clip and rear end will bolt right on the Pontiac G8 (V6), G8 GT (6.0 L76) and G8 GXP (6.2 LS3). The G8 is called the Holden Commodore VE Series 2 SS V and was built Left Hand Drive, imported and rebadged as a Pontiac. The Chevy SS is a VF Commodore SS. Both cars designed and built in Down Under. What I ordered, was the Tow Bar (hitch) designed by GM Holden. These cars were disigned to town in mind.

Few pics with the hitch.

A G8 towing a boat.

Also, is imported to Saudi Arabia as Chevrolet Caprice, Brazil as Chevrolet Omega, China as Buick Park Avenue, UK as Vauxhal VXR8 and Opel as Insignia. The US Police version is called the Caprice PPV with the L99 Flex Fuel non AFM/DOD, that one is based as the Holden Statesman.

Funny thing is... in NASCAR, the only car that is NOT US build is the Chevrolet SS and the sanctioning body let GM use it. The SS is what the GXP was supposed to be.

GM decided to shutdown manufacturing in Australia in November of 2017. Toyota and Ford shutdown production also. The assembly line is shut and all workers laid off. However, Holden will continue to exist as Badge Engineered Brand.

Just a tidbit of info. Ford designed and build what was called the Ford Falcon. The movie Mad Max feutured a 70s Ford Falcon XB as the Police Interceptor. The Pursuit units where Holden HQ.

Yes I have the crew cab short bed. I believe its 6.5 ft. No issues as of yet. I can get it to turn damn near 90 degrees and no contact with the cab. With these new caps I don't think its necessary to get a slider if you're careful but that's my opinion.
