Trailer with Tow Rig Pics
I thought it might be interesting to post up pics of your trailer with your TV pics. This might help people concerned about what tow vehicle they need for their family and see what we are using and why and how it performs. For us, we had to think out of the box a little to get the TV that best suited our needs.
We have three kids and travel with two dogs so roominess inside the TV is top priority. We had our 2500 Suburban outfitted with a 2007 LBZ Duramax and 6 speed Allison Transmission. This truck pulls the 318 with little effort now and has plenty of room for the family.

Digging up memories. My first camper, first tow vehicle. 1992 Wilderness 32 ft, and 1999 F150 with a 4.6 V8... Yes, 4.6, not the 5.4 however that did come later in 2001.
Then my 2003 Expedition EB and my brand new 2005 Montana 330RKBS 35ft with 2 slides. Thought the world couldn't get better. Yes, still under on the TV, but not by power this time, more by weight. Pulled great though, used it until 2008 with 96K miles, and still was like new when traded.
Bought 2008 Silverado Duramax 2500 Crew Cab LTZ which for the life of me, I cannot find a pic of.
Finally, a 2011 Silverado Duramax 2500 Crew Cab LTZ with 2012 Sierra 365SAQ. Right on the border of being at weight (again) and probably would be better with a dually. Since baby #2 is on the way, there will be no dually in the very near future.

I wonder why they never offered the dmax in the burb for reasons just like yours. I have seen a lot of those conversions. A very good idea. I bet it works great for you and your family.
As for me I have a 05 Nissan Titan pulling a 2012 sandstorm 203slc. Fully loaded I weigh 6800lbs. My truck does well and it's just me and my wife right now but kids will be in the picture soon and right now I am pushing the limits on my truck. . My next truck will be a dodge with a cummins diesel. But I have to make my truck do the job for at least another year.

Didn't Ford offer a diesel option in their Excursion line for a few years?

To be honest, we've only had it out twice so far and I really haven't paid too much attention. I have read other posts that suggest there is a slight lean when the slide is out. I'll have to check it a little closer next time we set up. BTW, how does your Ford pull your trailer. We have a Silverado 1500 with a 5.3L and it is really a dog pulling this thing. Really hoping to upgrade our tow vehicle next spring to a HD with turbo diesel.

Yes. Pretty sure you could get it the whole time they were making the excursion. I know there were 7.3 and 6.0 models.

When we did our decision making we could not find an Excursion we were happy with and we love our suburban. They did make Diesel Excursions with the 7.3 and eventually the much maligned 6.0, but the one thing Ford has never had, Allison Transmission with 6 speed tap shift and hill decent control. The trans alone was worth the conversion. Plus with the market on Diesel Excursions, it was cheaper to do the conversion, go figure.

Good Thread.
We just got everything setup, so here it goes.
2007 Toyota Sienna LE Van, 8 passenger (center row can hold all three car seat/booster seats for the kids)
Curt Class III hitch, Voyager Brake Controller, Air Lift 1000 rear spring airbags
We tow a 2012 Flagstaff 208 MAC camper (1820 lbs with propane/battery).
Camper has AC (her requirement), Electric Lift (my extra ) and LP furnace, so we hope to use it as much as possible throughout the year.
So far, only one camping trip with it last weekend since we picked it up last tuesday, but everything worked great and we are booked for three more trips.

It's a local cell phone company out of Wyoming. That pic is off my phone snapped from a Internet site where we bought our camper.

Don't have anything too recent...
When I learned to drive we were towing a mid '90s Coleman Sequoia. After some stormy seasons a hardsided camper was desired, so we got a '96 Aerolite 26RB that we hauled with a '93 Aerostar (non-extended version). This combo made several trips to Key West.
Later on the folks wanted a nicer unit, so they picked up a ~2000 HR Alumilite 28 towed initially by a '97 F150, and then by a 2001 F350 (best pic I have).
After a while they decided they didn't want to have two vehicles, and the camper wasn't getting used nearly as much so out it went. Then a few years later the itch arrived again. This time they went back to the popup, specifically a Coleman Utah this time. This picture was taken on their first loaded outing after which we installed some Airlift bags to help level out the TV.
When they come by in October I'll grab a shot of their current setup which is a Ridgeline towing a Hi-Lo 17T.
