I'm guessing you're a transplant. I agree with you.

I lived there for 3 years back in the '70's. Really missed the seasons.

Grey Wolfsburg

Adding to the controversy.. incorrect info on 2016 from... Volkswagen Touareg Review - Volkswagen Touareg Car Pricing, Photos and Specs - CARandDRIVER
TRAILERING
Dead Weight Hitch - Max Trailer Wt. 7716 lbs
Dead Weight Hitch - Max Tongue Wt. 772 lbs
Wt Distributing Hitch - Max Trailer Wt. 7716 lbs
Wt Distributing Hitch - Max Tongue Wt. 1157 lbs
Maximum Trailering Capacity 7716 lbs

this is why so many (including me) thought this was a towing machine .. I still intend to use this combo respectfully and safely but knowing the manual states the touareg does not have a class III hitch. (7716 not class three?) And I went to my local dealer and confirmed that the 2016 still shows 616 tongue weight on the sticker. One would think car and driver would be more accurate.

Monteagle Mountain is the stretch of interstate you're referring too. Average grade is 6%, about 5 miles long.

LTnTN I could not remember that stretch of road for anything even though I have traveled it many times. Just not real excited about going down that grade with the precious cargo on board (wife, two daughters and grandson). Wife says to go around. Lol

I am too. I love my flatbed. Surprised I do not see more of them for towing.

The new TV

The '07 Avalanche didn't pull as well as I would like on steep hills. Now we're pulling with a 2012 Silverado Z71 geared for towing. No problem keeping it up around 55 now. 2015 Flagstaff MicroLite 21DS.
