If you don't already, check out GasBuddy app. My copilot will search for the best fuel stops while enroute. Every bit helps.

Here's a couple pics. Went on another ferry ride while enroute to Myrtle Beach. This time they had us in the center, in away from seaspray.

Fortunately we didn't have too many cases that were very extreme, though I did see a quarter shift at times. We have the Gas Buddy app, but I usually just lay the premium and shop at truck stops for the convenience of easy in/easy out AND the high flow nozzles. It's sometimes painfully slow enough at 25-30 gallons, I couldn't imagine double or triple that.

AND- we are maxed out on payload (all 4,300 lbs of it). Anything added to the truck at this point should start to put me into overloaded territory.

BUT! I'm jealous of your ferry pics. That's on my bucket list of things to do. We head to Myrtle Beach on Saturday for a long weekend. I'm looking forward to it- even if it is supposed to be cold as crap!

Also if you get a BJ's credit card you save $.10 cents off a gallon at BJ's Fuel. One other thing is if you have good Sam you save $ at Flying J fuel stops. I use BJ's and it saves a tone per month over gas anywhere else

Those memberships are OK, as long as you buy enough fuel/groceries to off-set the cost of 'membership'.

I'm a GoodSam member and have a RVer card. I get a few cents off of the cash price at Flying J/Pilot locations. It acts like a charge card that is due in full at the end of each month.

When we had our house, our local grocery chain offered the same 10-cents off with points accrued. There was no cost to join and we had to buy groceries anyway. What I did find is that it was typically limited to $75 and I couldn't always fill the truck up with it.

Right, as I said - holy freaking cold! It's been 80+ here for a while. Saturday is supposed to be 65/38 in Myrtle. I'm so not prepared for that!

Ocean Lakes just for a long weekend. I'm hoping to drink in some of that super clean seawater I keep hearing about.

Then up to Trent Woods, NC to a buddies house.
